1.5 hours prior is plenty of time to get 2 sets of 2 seats together. One adult per child. More than likely at 1.5 hours early you will all be seated together. Don't get their at 4am. It is absolutely not necessary at such a small airport! You will then be entertaining small cranky children in a deserted airport. If you are absolutely h*ll bent on getting there 3 hours early maybe DH could head to the airport at 4am for seat assignments and the rest of the family could head over later. Even at 5:30am at a small regional airport you are going to find very little delay or lines. You could potentially spend more time waiting for the plane than time on the plane. No airline will seat a 2yr old without an adult next to him. It absolutely won't happen.
