7am extra magic hours

I just noticed that they changed the morning EMH to 7am for some days the week before Easter at MK. I am interested to see how they compare to 8am. I think it must be really hard for many people to get out that early. Boarding a bus at 6am will be interesting!

It's tough!!! We did 7 AM EMH at MK last year spring break and we were at the bus stop at SSR at 6:15. Crazy!!! But.... So worth it as we left early afternoon as the crowds were just streaming in and made Main Street impassable.

I think it's going to be great. I am thinking I'll make some FP+ adjustments now, though. We don't really need any for later in the day on that particular day. Current plan is to do rope drop, ride a bunch of Fantasyland stuff, and we have a lunch reservation for Crystal Palace at 12:15. 7-12 is a long stretch! I think we'll probably want to use our FP+'s for later in the morning. Once it gets crowded (I'm guessing 10-11 it will already be pretty rough) we'll use some FP's, maybe one to meet Rapunzel, and maybe meet the Silly Circus guys or play Sorcerer's of the Magic Kingdom. And after lunch, head out for a swim or something.

Yep we did that one year...up at 5:15 on the bus by 6:15 and waited while mickey sprinkled pixie dust in the dark to open the park! We did everything and were out of there out to Epcot by 9:30 when the real huge crowds arrived...we got to ride the monorail solo! . Honestly it was the way to go!

I love morning EMH, the earlier, the better, IMO. Most of the time, the parks are so quiet. It's like having the whole thing to yourself!

We're early birds so the earlier the better! We love getting there before everyone else so we can get in and get out.

yes!! Even when I make breakfast res. if it's a MK day, I eat as close to MK as possible (pref. at one of the MK resorts) just so I can hop on a monorail, get there a little after 9, get on he rides and get out! Haha

Not to pick...but 9:00 when the park opens at 7:00 is too late, that's when the crowds start to arrive.

The only time I'm a morning person is at WDW and that is one of the best things about Easter. Those 7 am EMH make you forget you're there at a busy time. At least until the masses start streaming in - right about when you're getting ready to leave

We did the MK 7am EMH two days in a row during Easter Week 2012. LOVED it! We were at the bus stop by 6am with our portable breakfast. It was dark when the park opened and the crowds were so low it was amazing. Of course, that was before New Fantasyland, so things may have changed. But we call our first 7am EMH at MK our "most successful morning ever" in terms of touring efficiency. But by 10:30 or so, it was crazy! (And time to hop to Epcot for an 11:30am lunch ADR.)

With all the talk of "getting to the park early and then leaving mid-day", it seems as if Disney has succeeded in using the FP+ system to convert people to being half-day guests. Once the 3 allocated Fast Passes are used up, there is little incentive to remain in the parks. Under the old system, on a crowded day, you might pull a FP for a headliner at 10:30 and get a 6:00 p.m. return time. At least that gave you incentive to stick around. The sooner Disney realizes that opening up more rolling Fast Passes once pre-booked Fast Passes are used, the sooner it can convince people to stay in the parks longer and spend money. This is especially true at the MK where FPs are useful tools even after the headliners are gone for the day.

For those who are in the parks all day, I can see the significant impact that FP+ has on touring plans and trends. We're different, because we ditched our commando touring a while ago and we've been AM park/PM swim/evening at Epcot for years. Our 7am EMH experience is from 2012, and I think we used maybe one FP- that day. FP+ has no impact on the amount of time we spend in the park - just makes the time we do spend there easier with less running around. But again, I know it would have had a huge impact on us if we were still going all day.
