I'm going to be driving to WDW for the first time in December. I'm thinking of taking the above route down because it's supposed to be more scenic.

We're taking 2 days to drive down. The second night I want to stop in Kingsland, GA, but I don't know where to stop the first night. Ideally I'd like it to be about half way between Staten Island, NY and Kingsland, GA. Does anyone have any suggestions of where to stop?

We're leaving the day after Thanksgiving and arriving at the Beach Club on Sunday. I assume these are major roads that are in good condition and would be kept clear in case of any inclement weather. Is that true?

Thanks!!

78 once you get in to PA is only two lanes and so is 81 and I am pretty sure that 77 was also. (We drove to South Carolina in June). The trucks can drive in both lanes so it slows things down a lot. We are about 20 mins east of the Pennsylvania boarder. It took us 10 hours to get to Columbia S.C. Roanoke ,VA was about the half way point for us. It is a pretty big city so if you decide to stop there you should have not have any trouble finding a place to stay. Winchester, Va is before Roanoke and may also have some good places to stay. Hope you have a safe trip and great vacation!
