75th birthday celebration

On the 8th of June I will be 75. My DH is planning a party for me but a large number of people we are inviting will not be available to until the 20th. Is that too far past my birthday to have a party?

I don’t think so at all, it’s your birthday month and you can celebrate the whole month long!! Happy early 75th!!

NO NO NO- it's never to late to celebrate a birthday, esp. a monumental one.

I personally celebrated my 29th birthday for 7 years (told dh I was waiting for him to catch up to me).

I agree with others that it’s not too late. In fact, I probably would prefer to go out for a nice meal with just my DH and immediate family, if they are local to you, and then have the exciting anticipation of my upcoming party.

Do it when it works......I don't think it matters when you celebrate. I don't think we ever celebrate anyone's on their actual birthday. Never seems to be convenient.

Have a party on your actual birthday with those able to attend. Then have a second party later for those who couldn't join the first one.

And then you can rub their noses in it by telling them how great the first party on your actual birthday was! "You should have seen the look on Sting's face when Tom Hanks told him that story" and "That Jennifer Anniston sure can pack away the champagne and caviar!"

We celebrated my birthday at Disneyland -- the cast members like to make a fuss and give the b-day person a badge so other cast members can wish them a happy b-day or give them a small gift -- I got a freebie hot chocolate at one of the cafes, and it was great. Anyway. My b-day was technically on a different day so when we stopped by City Hall to get a b-day badge I asked if it was o.k. to celebrate when it wasn't my actual b-day. The cast member gave me a badge and said, "Happy Un-Birthday." Celebrate when you can.

Similarly, DH and I are celebrating our anniversary with an Alaskan cruise next month, tho out actual anniversary is the end of April. It's too early to cruise Alaska in April, so we celebrate when we can.

We have been to WDW and saw celebrations of birthdays and other occasions months before or after the actual special day.

I celebrate my birth MONTH, not my birth DAY, so I say go for it and have two celebrations.

You can celebrate in two months if you decide to. It’s your birthday, so it’s totally your call, I think.
