Does anyone know if the Mickey statues will be returning to MK before May? I would love to see them there in April.

As far as I know the statues are not coming back to WDW. At the end of their tour they will be auctioned off.

on what on what?
ebay?
i would love one but i bet there so expensive that i would either have to choose that or WDW
i think WDW is better then one of them but one of them is rare and their all 1 of a kind so i dunno
:(

Some of the statues were here. I know they will be in Disneyland at the end of the tour, and also New York City and DC, I think, this spring. There is a website out there for them, if you want to Google it.

The statues are 6 feet tall, and will surely be very expensive, especially the ones designed by celebrities.

Click <a href="http://disney.go.com/inside/mickey75/statues.html?viewall"> here</a> to see them.

Ya know, if Disney made minatures of these and sold them in the parks, they could give even more money to make a wish! I'd buy a couple.

HEY!!! Any disney execs listening?!!!!!

edited to say: I just realized that each one has a different sponsoring organization! Wow!

They will be in DC from March 19th-April 10th as part of the Cherry Blossom festival:

There is also a Disney link on that page where you get to look at all 75 of them...pretty cool!

I hope this site is wrong. The Disney Tour site (which has been wrong before since they keep moving these statues at someone whim) says through April 30th. http://disney.go.com/inside/mickey75/tour.html

Since I planned a trip 6 months ago for April 13-15th just to see them, I am not going to be real happy if they leave early. This was my only free weekend the entire time they are there.

We were blessed with the opportunity to see them in 12/03 outside of MK. We were again blessed with the chance to see a few of them on display here in Atlanta. We even won a small resin statue of the Suddath Van Lines Mickey. I am working on collecting all the statue pins too.

The statues are very neat. If you get a chance to see them on tour or at DL this year, please do. Maggie

Sandy: I hope its wrong too! Let us know if you find out anything concrete. I will miss it by a few days myself...i'll be there to pick up my son for spring break from GWU on the 12th....hmmm but he'll have to be back on the 19th...so MAYBE i will get to go.....

Where did you get these? I never saw anything but the statues?

We "saw" the statues at MK in Feb. Unfortunately, the group I was with felt since we walked passed them from the bus to the front gate, we had seen them. I could have spent hours. With my DD being there and everyone else counting on me as tour guide, there was no way to do it on my own. I wasn't too worried as they would be there when I went on a solo trip a few months later and could take all the time I wanted. Than, one night they all disappeared.

I'll call tomorrow and post my findings
Sandy

Now that I reread the website, the Cherry Blossom Festival ends April 10th. Hopefully that is why they list it as the last day of the statues. I would be happy to go when that is over as I know that adds great crowds to the area in general

oooh you're right...and the "official website" DOES state the 30th....that sounds better to go after the festival!

I agree that the statues are neat! DH and I spent a long time looking at them outside MK.

We were thrilled to see all 75 last January when they were at Disney. They were great, but I don't think they plan to be returning to WDW again.I ,too, believe they'll be auctioned off somewhere.Would love to have the one made by Rosie O'D.,or Regis,or Kelly,or Michelle Kwan,or any of them! They rock! :earseek: :earseek: :cool1:

The 75 statues left WDW early last spring. It was our understanding that they would be on tour throughout the country and auctioned off for charity. If they would be anywhere at the end, I would think it would be more understandable that they would end up at DL, since it is their aniversary.

I always say I am going to the Cherry Blossum Festival but living here, I never do.. Now I have a great reason to take a day off work and head up to see them.. Thanks for letting me know they will be there.

The statues are now on display at Disney's California Adventure and will be there until Feb. 22, 2005
