That is how many I just sent. Well, I sent 69 and walked my neighbors across the street.

Cards cost approx $37
Stamps approx $31

I just spent nearly $70 to send out Christmas cards.

I totally see why people don't do this.

$37 for 70 cards?? They must have been very, very pretty.. If you get 70 back, can I have them? LOL.. I use them in my scrapbooking..:santa:

I spent $6 on photo cards with that code going around, but the stamps are gonna kill. Just doing it for my dd's first b-day.

Can i be honest? I think cards are stupid. Just don't tell my family!

We send out an astounding 250 each year. It is the single largest line item in our Christmas budget. All of our friends do the same. So many people on our list...college friends, grad school friends, neighbors, relatives, friends from work, friends from old jobs, friends from volunteer activities, sports teams, etc.

I must admit I am a HUGE fan of the Christmas card. I know they are not for everyone but I LOVE receiving them each year. One of my favorite parts of Christmas.

I am only sending out to my sweeties family. Only because they all live in TX and we are in Illinois and won't see them at Christmas.

I will see all my family and will give my wishes and blessings to them there.

Gotta cut costs!

and with the cost of everything nowadays, including postage..the list got pared way down..I just mailed 15 cards this morning..and hand delivered them to 5 neighbors houses..just can't keep up with the rising costs!

I sent 128 cards. Stamps were $58 (two went international). Cards were bought last year for about $12. So we spent $70 too. I love to send them and receive them.

We usually send out about 85 cards. I have not done any yet. I'm seriously considering skipping it b/c of the cost of postage. It's crazy!

I wish everyone would start sending them out via email. That would be very cost effective. :thumbsup2

I have never sent them. Every year I say I will, and some years I even buy some. But I never fill them out and mail them. I never even thought about the cost of postage! That is crazy! Guess I never will send them. lol.

Wow - you guys send a lot of cards! I don't send any locally and narrow down my list each year to people I still really want to keep in touch with. I send about 30.

I print 100 cards - it was around $70 for the cards - couldn't make the code work with in-store pick up of the cards. We usually end up sending out between 90-100.

Last year, DH, DD and I were all really sick with various respiratory infections between Thanksgiving & Christmas. We had no time to get cards out and barely time to buy gifts. I found a really cute Christmas border online (using free clipart), cut & pasted it onto a PowerPoint slide, then copied a picture into the same PP slide, moved things around, added some text and saved it as a jpeg. Then I sent an e-mail out to everyone we knew and attached the jpeg as our Christmas card. People loved it and we loved saving money, paper and ink. DH's DGM wanted a hardcopy so we printed one out as a photo and gave it to her.

This year we did the photocards using the code here on the Dis. Wouldn't have done them unless we had the code though. Would have done what we did last year with the PowerPoint. It's cheap & environmentally friendly :thumbsup2

We mailed out 73 cards and are hand delivering another 15 to neighbors this year. Yes, it was over $30, but heck, it's Christmas and it only comes once a year.

I'm one of those folks who LOVES getting Christmas cards and I LOVE sending them.

The older I get, the more I appreciate folks who take the time to send me a card. So THANK YOU to those who take the time.

We do about 75-100 cards each year. Family, friends, people we do business with. Costs about $80 from start to finish.

But I also have to say, I don't think badly of people who choose not to send them. It's not everyone's cup of tea.

ETA: I DO think badly of people who put down other people's Christmas cards -- i.e. "I don't like this person's Christmas letter", "that person's family photo is tacky", whatever. Give me a break, they took time and money to send you something -- appreciate it! Don't be a Scrooge!
