HI All, Very excited about our cruise however DH is getting a bit irritated. We go to WDW often, so we got the whole how we dress to eat dinner down well---- Shorts and shirts. So now I understand we are not allowed to wear shorts to dinner -even nice ones. So I need help in understanding what we are to wear and how the dining thing works PLEASE!

Some Questions:

1)I know we don't know the rotation of the dining nights but we have an early seating. So does that mean 6pm? What if we arrive at 6:20 what happens???

2)What is the most casual dress code we can get away with. My DH is not happy we need to bring him a suit for a Disney vacation. To him dressing up in a tie is like going to work and doesn't spell VACATION. SO what is the least I can get away with for Formal and Semi Formal (don't want to start any flaming, just really want to know what is an absoulute no no)

3)How does the rotation work as far as if it is Formal night does that mean everyone goes to the same restaurant (I have no clue the names so please help me out here) or is it just formal night in everyone's restaurants? I am assuming they have to spread people out on the Restaraunts each night... Told you I was clueless :confused3

4)We are linked with my sister's family so we are a party of 7 so will we be by ourselves at the tables? Will we have the same server for each night and will we have to "pay" anything with our KTTW cards? Will the tips be given to the server that day or at the end of the cruise. REALLy confused on tipping. Might start a whole other thread on that!

5) On pirates night what do most people wear who do not dress up as pirates. Please understand that one of the MAIN reasons we picked this trip on Nov 1st is so that we could skip Halloween. Not the dress up kinda family. I will dress the kids, but DH and I don't want to dress up. Could we just wear a Pirates of the Carribean T shirt??

Thanks for any advice or information. Sorry I am so clueless!

That is ok that you are clueless! I will do the best I can on answering!
1). If you have a 6 pm dinner time it is still fine if you show up at 620. They are open all throught the night until after the 8 pm seating.

2).Last year when I went you could wear nice shorts and I went on the western. I think that the dressing for formal and semi-formal for your husband would be a suit and a tie or just nice khakis and shirt and tie (they are both like church clothes!)

3). You have a rotation. For example- Animator's Palate, Lumiere's, and Parrot Cay. If you don't want to go one night you can always go to Topsider's or any of the little pick up places. In your rotation includes Formal Night, Semi-Formal, and Pirate Night. So not everybody will be at the same restraunt on the same night. Just the people in your dinner rotation time.

4).The tips will be given at the end of the cruise. The last night you or your husband goes down somewhere (you will find out where) and pays for everything that you have charged during the cruise incuding the tip.

5).On pirate night at your restraunt there is a pirate bandanna for people who do not dress up if they want to wear it. And of course you could just wear a pirate of the carribean t-shirt! That would be the best thing if you don't dress up.

I hope all of this helps! Please feel free to pm me if you have any other questions!
