We just returned from the 7-night Western. The evenings were:
The first night you go to the dining room according to your rotation. You will know what rotation you have as soon as you check in. The key to the world card has letters on the top righthand side. We had LAPLAPL - That was Lumiere's, Animators Palate, Parot Cay rotaion.
So the first night we went to Lumiere's - no theme the first night you just dress according to the dining room. Lumiere's is the more formal dining room, - business casual type dress.
The second night was more of the same - you go to whatever dining room assigned and dress accordingly. Animators Palate and Parrot Cay are less formal, but they ask no shorts.
The third night is the formal night. We saw people dress to the nines and those that chose not to. DH wore a tux and I wore a formal. We haven't many opportunities to play dress up so we enjoyed the excuse.
The fourth night you return to the first dining room you were assigned but the menu is different. The Around the World Dinner Menu was offered.
The fifth night is a theme night - depending on which itinerary you have - If it's the Western the theme is Mexicalifragilisticexpialidocious Menu. You can have fun with the theme and dress for it or not. If you're on the Eastern itinerary the theme is a tropical theme. There is a deck party later that evening. It was alot of fun.
The sixth night is the semi formal - We saw people in tuxes again this night all the way to business casual. There are several areas for pictures so dressing up makes a great picture. This night the Captains Gala Dinner was served. This is the night you can get lobster.
The seventh night was not a theme - the menu was the "Best of".
Personally this night was a total bust for us. It's the only evening we did not like our food. DH had the pork (dry) and I had the filet. I ordered medium rare and it came over over over done. We could have ordered something else - the servers would have been happy to bring another entree. It just wasn't important enough to us at that point.
This information can be changed, but probably it's a good road map. The menus can be found at
www.disneycruiser.info.
There's also alot of other information there.
I sure hope this helps. Have a wonderful cruise!!!
