Just wondering.....As of right now, the Fantasy is still scheduled to go on a 7-night Western cruise on Oct 9th. We're supposed to be on it and really, really looking forward to it. Now, we have Disney travel insurance plus I am looking into another insurance that will specifically cover getting us home should we be put off the ship should one or both of us be tested positive for the Rona. bye the bye, both vaccinated here. Just a couple days ago, the wonderful CDC issued warnings to, basically anyone who isn't 12 - 64yr, and many, many health situations, to stay away from cruising. Just a recommendation mind you, at least right now.

What is everyone's thoughts about this new guidance? I realize that its an individual's choice and should be based on your personal circumstance. Would you feel safe going on a 7-night trip if you happen to fall into the new, CDC DON'T TRAVEL categories?

No, this fall I wouldn't travel with any unvaccinated person (including anyone under age 12), out of concern for their safety. The Delta variant is a lot more contagious than the original form of Covid, and more children are being hospitalized than were last year.

I am 55 and we have B2B Fantasy cruises over Christmas/New Year. I'm really hoping by then, my husband, daughter and I will be able to get the booster shot (Surgeon General was on TV this morning and said their expectations are that folks can get the Pfizer booster 8 months after their second shot - subject to FDA authorization, of course). Having the booster would make me much more comfortable with sailing for 14 days. Guess we will see what the next few months bring.
