Finally, the day has arrived that I can start to get things ready. I have been holding off because the last few trips we drove down and we could bring everything and the kitchen sink. This year since we are flying I have to be careful with the packing. I'm aiming for carry on only but we will see about that. I'm really held back on that one all because of sunscreen. I'm figuring that I will spend as much on a couple of bottles as I would to check a bag. We will see when the clothes and things get laid out.

7 more sleeps to 9 glorious nights of sun, fun and free dining ! :cool1:

:banana::banana::banana:

The cost of sunscreen at Disney is scary:scared1: I think last year it cost me 13.95$ (USD) The prices outside the park didn't seem much better.

I think it would be cheaper to check a bag.

Hope you have a great vacation! I will "see":magnify: ya down there when you arrive. ( 4 more sleeps for us :cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:)

Now I must get back to doing laundry so the kids have some clothes to pack:rotfl:

It's $15 each way to check one bag. I remember seeing sunscreen in Everything POP and it was the small bottle. I would, for sure, need 2 of them. So at $13.95 I guess that means I should check one bag and bring more stuff. ;)

5 more sleeps for us!!!

See you there, will anyone be staying at Port Orleans Riverside?

I have never heard of paying to check your luggage, nor do I think I could survive with carry on bags only, good luck! I bought a spray bottle of sunscreen by the pool at CSR last year, large size for about $12. Better than I expected!

I have to guess that you only fly on Canadian carriers.

Those of us the choose to save 75% and fly from Buffalo have to pay a couple dollars to check a bag. The exception is Southwest that still includes 2 bags per person.

Going carry on is a lot easier than you think. The US carriers have a much more generous limit to the size your bag can be and you are permitted a second 'personal' item. Which can be a backpack or tote bag. Along with that you can do a load of laundry while you relax by the pool.

Actually we are flying out of Buffalo - Southwest. We go between them and Jet Blue. Which airline charges for bags out of Buffalo?

23 more days for us, and I think I'm waaaaaay more excited than the kids!!! :rotfl: Woooo Hoooo! First time at a mod. ,Port Orleans French Quarter, here we come! :woohoo:

I've had a few trips that I was clearly way more excited than the kids.

Now I have transfered my Disney-itis to my DD. She started a countdown on the fridge about 35 days ago. She has a basket in her room for the last 3 weeks with things that she needs to bring. I believe that she has trumped me in the excitment department.

I'd check a bag. You need room for all your purchases!

I'm still checking a bag each for my niece and myself. We only have to pay on the way down using AT and we can actually bring more home using Southwest.

...as my DD informed me at 6:45am. Did I forget to mention that she's 10.....not 5. She then did her 6/49 happy dance.

The House of Mouse - we'll be at POR too from Aug 29 - Sept 7! Trying to get into AB section. I've got my list of last minute items to buy and am starting to lay out the clothes! Am going to let my 13 year old daughter try to pack on her own for the first time!! I have armed her with one of the major lists I got from these boards and highlighted the items she needs to gather! I'll double check as I can see her only packing 3 swimsuits, sunscreen and a hat! Enjoy everyone - the humidity will be a killer and of course since we're Canadians we'll have to complain about the weather (politely of course:rotfl:), but since our summer was so lousy, I'll do my best to smile through my sweat! How brave of you! I have started to notice this summer that my DD (14) and DS (12) don't make decisions very easily, probably because I make them all for them. But on the bright side, we are all packed ready to head off to POR. This is our first time at Riverside, I didn't request anything specific. Maybe we will cross paths at the pool, lazing around with our teens!? Have a great trip!
