Just thought I'd share a success story. We own at AKL but last Christmas were desperate to stay at the Boardwalk as we'd had a great trip the year before. We had 14 nights booked and I'd read all the posts about the chances being virtually nil.
I managed at seven months to get four nights at BCV and then within a four week period - all ten nights in a garden/pool view at BWV!! This was including NYE! I only waitlisted for one and managed to secure the others by stalking the website.
This year we've got 12 nights booked at Kidani and I'm hoping to do the same - if not, we're happy with Kidani as we love it there but do like the Boardwalk at Christmas.
Never give up!
