7 month window or Renting points ??

I have booked at my home Resort in Nov/Dec 2013.
And would like to add 2 nights stay at a different Resort:
Do I wait 7 months out (still short Pt's/and payMS $15 pp)
Or rent Pt's for 2 nights .
Not sure how transferrer between Owners works .

The only thing I know is the Resort I would like to stay at, amount of points needed.
Please help, new DVC Member . TIA

What resort do you want for your last 2 nights? For that time of the year, it will make a difference as far as availability goes.

If 7 month availability will be scarce, you may want to find another member to transfer you points from that resort so that you can book before the 7 month window opens. If you do that, you will have a better chance of booking what you want and also have control over the reservation.

If you want something that is likely to be available, I'd just wait until 7 months and buy the extra points you need from MS. This is likely to be the least expensive option for you. I have assumed you need less than 24 points to complete the reservation and that you have not already purchased any one-time points from MS for the use year that the extra 2 nights falls within.

I was looking at VWL - Deluxe Studio (Dec5 -Dec7), is this possible??.
No points have been purchased this year to add on Reservation, already barrow from 2014.(SEE UPDATE)
MS said I would have to wait for 7 mo window to buy points. Is this right the MS didn't sound like they were to sure about this. Please let me know.TIA
UPDATED: Just found out I still have 20 pts I can use in my 2014 I can pull ahead. So I only need 11, So do I still need to wait the 7 months out??because it's a diffrent Resort??

Since you don't own at VWL you have to wait until 7 months out to book. Whether you use your own points or a combination of your own and one time use points, you have to wait until 7 months from check in date to book.

December 5 & 6 at the VWL are going to be very hard to get at 7 months, the more so because you won't be able to book online. Others will be online trying for that same time frame before MS opens for the day.

Be sure to call MS right at 9 AM Eastern (you can't buy the one-time points online). Consider what your back up plan will be ahead of time if you need the 2 nights no matter what and can't get VWL. You will not be able to waitlist if you need to use one-time points.
