We have a 17 night holiday booked from the 21st August and currently have 4 nights studio at our new home WLV and 8 nights in a one bedroom at WLV BUT as its our first visit as DVC members:cool1: we wanted to try another resort as well for 4 nights.
I have waited till today to have a look on the online system as dont see the point in looking before as things change dailiy. Availibility is showing for AKLV,BLT standard and lake view, and Beach club for studios. BWV was our first choice but would have to waitlist (dont know how successfull waitlists are as never done this).
We have 2 children 5 and 10 at the time of travel and wondered which resort people would recommend? I know its a personal thing but we really dont mind as like all of these resorts.
We have stayed at AKLV OKW twice on rented points and SSR so would prob not stay there again this time although love this resort.
BLR appeals due to the monorail but then BC due to the night entertainment.
Sooooooo hard to choose.
Which is larger and has better facilities for children?
We do have enough points for a one bedroom but are intending to have more of a relaxing stay at our home resort.
Thankyou

As you say, you really can't make a bad choice here.

I'd probably vote for BLT...and focus on MK & EPCOT during that portion of the stay. It also has a Community Hall which is great for the ages of your children. The only down side for this trip is that you would already have stayed on Bay Lake and enjoyed the boats, EWP, etc.

So maybe something different. Since you knocked OKW, AKV and SSR out of contention for this trip, you might give BCV a whirl. Certainly the pool is an attraction all to itself, and since you will be having such a long trip you might enjoy some down time at the resort. No Community Hall at BCV but it is an easy walk over to EPCOT and a nice boat ride to DHS.

I'm sure you would enjoy either location very much. And of course, if you can get into BWV that would be great too. Good luck! :)

I would suggest BCV...the pool would be a great plus for the kids, and it's so easy to visit EPCOT and DHS. We stayed two nights at BLT last month and weren't impressed at all...if I had to use a one-word description for the resort, I think it'd be "stark".....and it really is a long walk from BLT to the MK, longer than BCV to EPCOT. Also, you'd be a stones-throw from the Boardwalk, which is fun to visit in the evenings.

While I do agree that BCV may be a bit closer to Epcot than BLT is to MK, I don't know if you can really classify it as a long walk--we do it in about 10 - 12 minutes at a normal pace.

I would have to go with BC as well. I love the whole Boardwalk area (YC, BC, and BW) between EPCOT and DHS. SAB is the best pool around and strolling around on the boardwalk at night is great. The entertainers are great.

Thanks guys. I am going to call tomorrow and see whats availible. As of today we would hv to waitlist BCV now but BWV pool view avail so will hopefully get tht.

I'm sure it is shorter than my perception...it felt like 10 miles to me, I have arthritis in my knees, which was really acting up that night, and that walk was one of my most painful memories. :sad2:

Ahh bless you. I think when we hv done 5 miles around the parks the thought of a long walk back does seem daunting but then theres no rush and its a beautiful place to be.:lovestruc

Just to say that We hv booked BWV garden view but waitlisting BCV for five nights. Wlv for the rest. Thnks for the advice
