7 month widow?

Hi, I will be renting points from my friend who is very new to DVC for a stay at ALV Oct. 19-24 and this is not her home resort. My question is can she make the reservation March 1st or does it have to be at exactly 7months--also would she be able to book the week or is it day by day and would not be able to book the entire stay until the very end of March. thanks

She'd be able to try to start, subject to availability, a day-by-day booking on March 20 for the evening of October 19.

She would be able to try to book the entire vacation in one fell swoop on March 25.

thanks--do you think it would be gone at that time of year if she waited to book the entire stay(we want a savannah view studio). Since she is doing this as a favor i would hate to ask her to call every day to book one day at at time--this seem like kind of a pain

Availability is very hard to pin down exactly. Since this would be for a vacation in October, during the Food and Wine Festival, I would tend to think that it would be tough to get all at once. But I could be overly conservative.
