If the resort is Aulani - there is Marriott Ko Olina timeshare very close which could be an option for the first night.

Keep in mind, when you 'see' availability, it may be only 1, 3 or 5 rooms.
There are 500,000 memberships. Each morning at least a dozen (plenty more actual) are trying to book each room.
To quote THE HUNGER GAMES... The odds are NOT in your favor.

Every point sold at RIV, VDH and CFW (and soon, PolyDayInn) adds more owners to the system at 7 months. Now, it does add units (that may or may not of interest or bookable by existing owners), but for the highest demand resorts like BCV and BWV, it is going to create a lot of 7-month mayhem.

Hmm, if they add more resorts with purchase restrictions, that is going to create unfair situations for resale customers- new resort owners are able to book the original 14 resorts, but the original 14 can’t book the new ones. The ratios aren’t too terrible yet, but will get worse as new resorts are opened with restrictions.
