7 Month booking window question

I am trying to book BLT at the 7 month window since our home resort is OKW. I know that I can only book a max. of 7 nights. However, there is a possibility of us taking a 4 night cruise before going to the parks. In that case, I wouldn't need the first 4 nights of the reservation(if I even get one at BLT)...My question is, can I just cancel the first 4 nights at BLT or would I have to cancel my first reservation and make a new one and risk losing my room at BLT?

You should be able to just cancel the first 4 nights, but will have to do it after the 7 month window is complete for your ressie. If you are using banked or borrowed points, beware that they use the correct points when cancelling..
