We are hoping to book aulani for summer 2015 (end of June - early July). From what I've read I need to jump on there on my 7 month day. Problem is, we want to stay 8 maybe 9 nights and isn't it true that I can only book 7 nights?

Can I book my 7 nights on my exact 7 month date and then just add on a day the following day? Would I just call member services? This would be our first booking since joining dvc. Ordinarily we wouldn't be staying more than 7 nights if in Orlando but flying all that way we want to extend our stay a bit.

Thanks!

At exactly 7 months out, you can book only 7 nights. You can then add nights daily by calling MS. Alternatively, you can book the seven nights and then at end of the week make a new reservation online for the extra nights (which you can do at 8 eastern daily rather than waiting for the phones to open at 9 and then waiting 30 minutes for someone to answer) and after you have all the nights you want, either call MS or send an email through the contact section online requesting that all the reservaitons be joined as one or otherwise linked.

I had the same question as you about 2 weeks ago, and received good advice from other Disboarders. If you look for the post "Having a booking panic attack" (or something close to that - can't remember without more coffee in my system), you'll see the options available to you in this situation.

I booked my initial 7 nights and then right at 9 (Eastern) each morning for the next 3 days, called MS and they added an additional night to my reservation.

As I learned, the online system is not set up to add nights to reservations, so the only online alternative if you don't want to call in and prefer to book online, is to wait the extra week and hope that nights 8+ are still available (as suggested above), or alternatively, book nights 1-3 first and then on day 4, book the rest of the trip..

Personally, I was more comfortable locking down my additional nights on days 2, 3 and 4, rather than waiting until day 4 or 8 and hoping all 3 days were available. The phone call itself (including calling/hanging up/redialing starting at 1 minute before the hour) took less than 5 minutes each morning.

Thanks! I found your thread and read through it. Definitely going to book the 7 nights first and then hope to add nights 8 and 9 - whether that be online and then messaging MS to link them or calling.

Already have the non-refundable plane tickets and my non-dvc parents have already booked their villa at rack so just paranoid about our accommodations :)
