Will I have a problem booking at 7 months for a AKV 1 bedroom in Sept/ OCT 2017? anyone know

You should be fine! Jambo House books up quicker than Kidani since there are fewer rooms, but really both should be available that time of year.

I have waitlisted for AKV Kidani several times in the past and those have always came through, if you just wait it out. the last time, it didn't happen until the 31 day mark and "bingo". It is always wise to have a backup plan that you can cancel at the last minute

If I am understanding your post, you mean you intend to have a start date in late Sep and an end date in early October. That would be the time during the last quarter of the year when you have the highest chance of getting a 1BR standard or savanna view at either Jambo or Kidani. The more you get past late Sep and into Oct for a start date, the more the risk becomes that an issue will arise at Jambo and could arise at Kidani at least for standard view.

Next year F&W is scheduled to start the last day of Aug. That means that all of Sept will now be lumped in with the Oct through mid-Jan highest booking time period. I would book your HR at 11 months out and then "see" if there is any availability at the end of Sept to switch to AKL.

I don't think F&W in Sept will have much impact on availability especially at AK. The kids will just be starting school and it just too hot and humid to enjoy F&W. Sept has always been among the least crowded times at WDW.

OP - Unless you are looking @ an AKV value 1 BR should be fine end of Sept/Oct but pre Columbus Day weekend

I was wondering the same thing. I was hoping that the F&W festival would have virtually no impact on AKV bookings, unlike trying to book an Epcot resort. For an Epcot resort, forget 7 months! We felt lucky that we were able to book BCV at 10 months and 3 weeks for mid-October.
