I did make ressies or PS..or whatever they're called these days. I know the MM route for optimum rides. I have our meals planned. Reserved rooms in 2 cities. Dog is set to be boarded. I've worried endlessly about SoCal weather

But other than that, I've done SQUAT. I feel I know what I need to know - but you know that feeling like you've forgotten something? I feel like that.
In fact last time we went to SoCal I started packing...changed suitcases & forgot to move the packed things to the new suitcase. We hunted down a Laguna Hills Target for like an hour so I could get underwear & bathingsuit! :rolleyes1

So besides my underwear....any reminders some might have about the parks, etc? I feel like I haven't asked enough questions!!

Ooh...how exciting! Here are some random things besides packing the regular stuff (i.e. clothes, meds if applicable, comfy shoes, etc.):

- pack ponchos if you plan on riding Splash Mountain and in case it is still raining in SoCal when you go
- bring pennies for smashed pennies if you are into making those (might be fun for the kids ;) )
- RoA is drained so you can exclude any attractions/shows there from your plans
- check out the entertainment calendar: http://disneyland.disney.go.com/disneyland/en_US/calendar/daily/daily?name=CalendarDailyPage&bhcp=1 if you haven't done so already so you can get an idea of what is going on at the parks when you are there
- print out coupons for places that you are even considering going to. Here are some that I always use: http://www.anaheimoc.org/Articles/Archive/Webpage10153.asp http://www.getawaytoday.com/Maps.aspx

That's all I can think of right now...I'm sure other people can help as well. Have fun! :)

The two things on the top of my "don't forget list are a night light and a power strip. I hate it when we can't both plug in our phones/laptops and there two extra phones this trip. I also don't like to wake up in a strange place in the dark and I travel with teenager girls so there's no telling how many bags and pairs of shoes are on the floor. lol

These are excellent ideas and definately ones ive never thought of but could definately see taking! Thanks!

Something we always do on bigger trips is add all the confirmation numbers and important info (also the estimated price) to our cell phone "notes". That way if the papers are lost, we still have all the info. Its helped us many times in the past. I also put places I'd like to eat and discounts (like AAA or Disney Visa) so I remember to use them.
Baggies also seem to be a must for us. We use them for everything while traveling.
Have fun and good luck!

What a great idea. I will add that to my to dos.

Things we always make sure to take are:
Bottled water
Detergent (we always end up having to do a load or two of laundry there)
Fab Softener ( I just throw 3 sheets in a ziploc)
Glowsticks (usually from the dollar store or grocery store)
Lysol wipes (Individually wrapped...im a germaphobe!)
And last but not least....
Purell

You have gotten great packing advice...here is just a tip for the parks which worked great for us earlier in the week. The weather was around 65 in the day but got down to a chilly 45 at night. We wore layers and got a locker. We kept the jackets, hats & gloves in the locker and extra socks (because we like the water rides). I had never been in the winter and this worked great. We would have never made it til 11:00 without our hats, coats & gloves. Have fun!

If you're funny about light coming in the window at night, bring a couple chip clips or clothes pins to close the drapes in the room. We always hate that crack of light that comes through both at night and in the morning.

Bring a chamois for wiping up water on the seats of the rides (in case of rain - which it looks like it might). They are very absorbant and compact. Don't fear the rain! The best days we've spent in the parks have been on rainy days because the parks are so empty. It usually isn't torrential here in LA (except for last week, jeez) so no worries.

If you are carying a backpack - bring one large water bottle. There are a couple of restaurants where you can fill your bottle with ice and water so that you never have to purchase. Some families might not be comfortable with everyone drinking out of the same bottle, but you could always wipe with a towlette before anyone takes a swig. That will save you tons of $ on bottled water.

Make sure you have a lanyard for your tickets and credit cards - preferably one that zips. Also - when we went to WDW, I had a coin purse type thing that I carried my money in and it had a little clip that I could clip to the small bag I was carrying and THANK GOODNESS. I can't tell you how many times I went to go for my money and that little coin purse was just hanging there off my bag because I'd forget to slip it back inside.

But most of all HAVE FUN!!

Yeah.......so I'm 18 mos late replying.

Long story short: PC died. Went to DL. Came back, got PC fixed. Didn't come on for TR bc it had been 2 mos. Came back today to look into Universal info & saw this was my last post before the death of my PC.

Also - this is a good time of the yr for extra packing tips so a bump couldn't hurt for this thread. :thumbsup2

BTW- The DL trip was great.
It was the beginning of Feb 2010 & it was WET. My DD got a bloody blister & slipped on Buzz Lightyear bc of the rain....we brought extra socks (TY whoevers tip that was!), we missed our ressies at Cafe Orleans and therefore our Monte Cristo bc of the RAIN!!! I had no idea that could even happen! So if it's rainy, make other plans! We were so tired & sick of being wet we went to Denny's. :sad2:
But I doubt many will have rain to deal with in July....

The best part was the rain cleared up the crowds, we walked on to so many rides over & over again. That was great!

What a wonderful suggestion! I am starting my notebook now to prepare for our August 30 departure to DL.:surfweb:
