Hi all,

So here is our situation - we have 7 day Park tickets (1 park per day) that I got through airmiles. We will be staying at AoA for 2 weeks in March. We plan on adding 3 park days and the water park option once we have activated the tickets (entered a park for the first time as we have heard this way would be the cheapest to upgrade our tickets). The beginning of our trip will be lighter crowds earlier in March so I think it would be best to book fastpasses for the later part of our trip when it will be busier. I'll only be able to book for 7 days. So for the first couple of days at the parks we wont have prebooked fastpasses but I need to use the tickets to get in the park. If I use the ticket to get in the first day will it drop my fastpasses booked on the last day? (because then theoretically i would have used one of 7 days and only have 6 days of valid tickets linked to my account?).

~ you no longer need to use your ticket before upgrading. Upgrade at anytime before your 1st park day.
@ravenclawtrekkie can explain this much better than I can.

~ if you decide not to upgrade before entering a park, enter and upgrade sometime that day. You won't lose your last day of FPs as long as you upgrade within a day.

You can upgrade your tickets any time after your arrival at any theme park ticket window, or any Guest Relations location inside or outside the parks or at Disney Springs. If the CM doing the upgrade knows what they're doing, your price will be correct whether the tickets have been used or not. Do the math ahead of time to make sure - take the gate price of the ticket you want (including tax) and subtract the gate price of the ticket you have (also including tax). The difference is what you should pay, but keep in mind that ticket prices could change again before next March, so you might have to re-calculate based on 'new' gate prices if/when that happens.

It doesn't hurt to use the tickets first before if that fits your timetable better though, and like hiroMYhero said, it shouldn't affect your FastPass+ reservations as long as you upgrade on that first day.
