I am heading down in January to take advantage of the disney promotion 7 nights for the price of 4. Even though I had enough points for the vacation I thought it was a good deal so I thought I would save points. Now to the question - the promotion comes with a 7 day my way pass. Can I upgrade the pass to an annual pass using the DVC discount. If so does anyone know how much the upgrade would be for adults and children and where can I do the upgrade. Believe it or not I had asked Disney travel and they had no idea so they gave me a ticket "specialist" who also did not have the answer. Thanks for any help.

I think if you go onto the WDW website and see what their gate price for the base price it will tell you the value. You can even do a mock order with tax to see what they will give your towards the upgrade. Then go onto the DVC member website and look up the DVC pass price and subtract the difference. Did you just get the base ticket in your package??? IF you got any extras then add them on when you are doing your mock order on the WDW site. Then you can upgrade but everyone says to use the 1 day ticket once first before the upgrade.

Hello fellow Marylanders on this thread.

I followed everything in the above post with the exception of using a day first. Why is this something that is widely recommended?

Thanks,

Well it depends on where you buy the ticket. If you bought the ticket at a discount place and didn't use it...it will read the barcode or something on the back of the ticket and that is the price that will go towards the upgrade. Say you get this 7 day ticket and already have AP's and keep the unused 7 day for another year or whatever.....then you decided to trade it up for a new AP....well the value of the ticket will be what it was worth when you got it a year ago vs. using it a day ...which brings it up to the current gate price. This was all explained in another thread. You can use 4 days or whatever and you still get the full 7 day towards the AP......whether you use one day or all of them. As long as you upgrade after you use the last day. HOWEVER....the AP date will start with the date you first used the 7 day pass.
