Hi!
I'm looking for anyone that has rented a vacation home near Disney that would comfortably accomodate 7 adults. I've been pouring over the vacation rental sites, but I'd love to hear first hand experiences. Please!! And let me know where I can go to find the rentals.

Thanks so much!!

I'm really looking for specific properties that people have experience with. I have been looking at vrbo, along with many other sites.

I'm PMing you bonita.

Just posted on another site about this, Windsor Palms is FABULOUS! Looked them upon on the internet, about 7-10 minutes from Disney (read on another site about a back road where it took them 7 minutes).

When we rented a house, we stayed with www.floridadisneyhomes.com in The Cruella DeVille house -twice now. It's a great house with it's own pool and spa and as an added bonus it also had a computer with internet access (I needed to keep in touch with clients) and an X-box which our older son loved. One of the bedrooms has great paintings on the wall of from the 101 dalmations. It took us about 15 minutes to get to the house from the MK and about 10 minutes to the AK. Dan & Donna were great. Friends of ours had gone with a large group and stayed in one of their bigger homes a few months before we went. When they left, in all the confusion they somehow managed to leave 3 large suitcases behind. When they went to check in at the airlines there was a message for them that Dan was on his way and was about 15 minutes behind them with the missing bags. That's why I decided to rent from them - not that I planned on leaving my suitcases behind, but knowing that if I did, everything would be OK.

We rented a 3 bedroom at the Regal Palms in Davenport (about 15-20min away from Disney) in January for a whopping $70 (tax included) a night! The place is beautiful and the pool complex is FANTASTIC. :cheer2: They have a really nice grill and bar with and internet cafe, a health club and sauna that they are finishing construction on. We are going down again in January 06 with another group of friends and trying out a 4 bedroom! :Pinkbounc We rented from a private owner who was great! PM me if you want his website.

Hi...if you want really fancy place with private baths and suites for the each couple or single...try www.7bedroomorlando.com . Biggest issue for us is having private bath facilities and then a big common living dining and swimming area. You can put 7 people in a 4/3 or even a 3/2 but the bathrooms can become a little crowded and lots of running around in the house in towels and undies!! For a little extra for each person you can have 5 bathrooms with thier own pvt. bath or adult 6 and 7 can share a bath...kind of depends on who is in couples or singles. This resort developement is close to Disney, restaurants. Huge pvt pool and spa.

Good luck,

Grandpa Ted

We can highly recommend www.villadirect.com We're using them again this year for the second half of our trip. They've always treated us great and had much cheaper prices than some of the competitors. We had a brand new 4 bedroom home, pool, video games, jacuzzi, big screen TV, etc, etc for only $130/night! I realize you'll need something bigger but that's an example.

I hear great things about http://www.allstarvacationhomes.com/ too, plus you can get a discount at Deb's site: http://allearsnet.com/acc/vhomes.htm

Go for it!

Thanks everyone! You've all given me great ideas!

I think I'm aiming for a 4bed/3bath. It's 3 couples and one single. Plus 2 of the couples have been on vacations together and shared a bath.

We're trying to stay under $130 a night. Do you really need to pay for the pool to be heated? We'll be going in October.

Please keep sharing!

We had pool heat last October

not sure how it would have been without it

I see some places recommend pool heat for October-April and some say November- April.

I wouldn't want to swim in a frigid pool, but I keep thinking of what I could spend that $100+ extra dollars on! :)

Thanks again everyone!

IMHO heat the pool...it is a small fraction of the cost and you are right, even a chilly pool is no fun. And If you get a pool and spa, you definately want the spa heated...

enjoy...Ted

Go for the pool heat there is nothing like moonlight swims after a long day of walking in the parks and while it maybe warm in the daytime at night you will want pool heat. We love having the private pool it is a highlight of the trip.

When we went last year in March we had pool heat in one house and none in the other, it was not possible to swim in the non heated pool.

Well, it looks like we might be going in August instead of October. my DH has an interview for a teaching position! Yay! :teeth: I was hoping to have one non-summer WDW vacation, but that might not be in the cards. Oh well, its a good reason.

The house I'm really interested in has a spa that's on the pool heater so I guess, we'll pay the extra anyway.

Thanks everyone!!!
