At the last moment, the wife invited her parents along for our Disney trip in April, making wife and myself and our son (5), my brother and his wife and two kids (3 and 4), my mother, and the wife's mother and father. I had just reserved a third concierge room, but she is now saying that she wants to keep it at two rooms since they sleep five.

Right now, as I see it, wife and I in one bed, her parents in another bed, our son in whatever pullout they have. In the other room my brother and his wife in one bed, my mother and one of his kids in another bed and the remaining kid in same pullout.

Is this remotely going to work or are we going to kill each other?! Keep in mind we have concerge planned so we'll have some place to 'chill' instead of spending so much time in the room.

There's no way I'd want to do that :scared1: .

We are a family of 5- 2 parents and 3 children that were 13-15-17 when we stayed in one room at AKL. It was tight, and the kids made us promise "never again".

Count me in on the third room. I don't think you will regret it

I could almost see it if it were DH, DW and kids, and as the OP stated the club level.
But in-laws and what not in the mix... no way.... A little too much togetherness for me. ;)

Just an FYI

Remember there is $25 a night fee for each additional adult in deluxe room.

So that would mean $75 extra night if you stay in the two rooms.

Have fun at Disney!:wizard:

I think you should look into vacation club points and get a villa or a off site villa. You are on vacation, and you will enjoy yourself alot more if you have room to spread out.

The thought had crossed my mind, but I spoiled my mother and wife by getting Beach Club concierge last year when it was just four of us. She loved the late night snacks while the kids could hit the Boardwalk for drinks, and the free (ha) breakfast, package delivery, and in park transportation. I had brought up the idea of a villa, but she has her heart set on this and she is paying this time around, so I need to respect her wishes.

Thank goodness for the free wine!

As long as the "paired up" adults are comfortable sleeping the same room, it should be OK, because the children are so little. We had a room for 5 at the Poly last year and the daybed, really a twin-sized bed, was fine for one of my college-age daughters. If you really only use the room to nap for the small ones and to sleep, two rooms should be fine.

10 people, 2 bathrooms? Yes, you are going to kill each other.

Or at least ruin in-law relations. Just not worth it.

The first thought I had- BATHROOM SPACE. You know everyone will have to potty at the same time :lmao: I would say if you can swing it go for the 3rd room. You still want to like each other at the end of vacation after all

We just returned after staying at the BCV which is over 1,200 sq ft for a 2 bedroom. We were 6 adults, 1 junior, 1 toddler and 1 infant. We had 2 bedrooms with living room and kitchen, and 2 full bathrooms. It was not big enough for our group and felt crowded. I can't imagine 10 in 2 rooms. Good luck!!

Love my inlaws, but not enough to share a hotel room. It's not so much 5 people in the room, but moreso a privacy issue for me.

When we stayed at the Polynesian for the first time in July I really regreted only booking one room because we were with my MIL. She is a nice person, but she takes WAY too long in the bathroom in the morning (1 hour +) and since the sinks are inside the bathroom, that made preparing for the day even more difficult. Next time we vacation with her at WDW we will either get a 2 bedroom DVC villa, or two rooms at the Polynesian. So, in conclusion I would not only get two rooms. Three would be MUCH better during the trip. :)

Put me in the minority, I guess. I'd do the two rooms.

The rooms are designed for five each, the kids are small. So long as you are good friends and don't mind seeing each other in nightclothes, hearing snoring, etc., it ought to work out fine.

It really helps that you'll be staying club level because that's like a lot more space available. Folks can get up, throw on some clothes and go to breakfast while others sleep, shower, etc.

I'm not sure I'd do it if I were not staying club level, but with club level, it should be manageable. Also, club level, IMO, only really makes sense if you fill the rooms to the max! Breakfast for 10 alone is probably $150 each morning. Add to that midday snacks, evening canapes, wine, beer, desserts and cordials for 10 and it makes it a bargain. It's not really a bargain if you move to three rooms.

Count me also in the group that would definitely choose club level over DVC. It's a no brainer.

Good luck with your decision!

I don't know...
BC is one of the deluxes that you have to request a daybed room, although, daybeds might be included in all concierge rooms.
Concierge rooms are expensive...I've done the concierge thing before and have decided that we don't hang around the room so much to take advantage of the food offerings. Maybe you'll feel so cramped, like you're in a value or moderate and then feel ripped off that you're paying so much for the 2 rooms. Why not get 3 rooms non-concierge and spread out and enjoy your beautiful deluxe resort stay? You can split up more for sanity and take advantage of all the eateries in the YC/BC/ BWI area for food instead of the concierge lounge?
