OK I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO GET AN ADR FOR LECELLIER FOR MY BIRTHDAY DINNER ON SEPT 8TH.

WE GOT A 7:50 TIME!:goodvibes WILL WE BE OUT OF THERE IN TIME TO WATCH ILLUMINATIONS???:confused3 WE HAVE NEVER EATEN THERE BEFORE AND SO I DID NOT KNOW HOW LONG IT WOULD TAKE TO GET THROUGH DINNER???

THANKS...I AM SO EXCITED I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO GET A TABLE!:thumbsup2

We had a 7:50 ressie at Coral Reef and DID NOT make it out in time for Illuminations:( There were 9 of us and we didnt get seated until well after 8PM, when we left we walked thru the park basically by ourselves, if there is only 2 of you, and you get sat right away, there is a possibility

Getting out in time and then finding a suitable place to watch are two separate issues. I think you will just barely get out of things are on time. However, I was there the exact same week last year and Le Cellier was running a bit behind schedule due to the "free dining" crowds. Regardless, it is worth it to keep the reservations.

Plus, chances are, since this is Le Cellier we're talking about, even though you have a 7:50pm ADR, more than likely you won't even be seated until after 8. The only time we've been seated right at our time was when we had an ADR for the restaurant opening time. So chances are, no, you will not make Illuminations. Sorry... :sad1:

We had a 7:30 on Monday, were seated promptly and got out about 8:45. This is with 2 kids. The food was awesome and we really liked it. If you are seated on time I think you can see Illuminations, but you also have some influence on the pace of the meal. If you order dessert, drinks, etc then it takes longer.

If you get seated right away and eat fairly quickly, then you can get out of there on time.

If you get seated late, then no - you won't be seeing Illuminations.

We had a 7:40 reservation, were seated about 10-15 minutes late and did not make the fireworks. Could here them going off outside which was very disappointing. Never was able to make it back so the nephew and niece could see them. But dinner was great!

Even if you do get out on time, you won't be able to get a good spot for Illuminations - people line up an hour in advance for that. You might be able to see some of the higher fireworks, but probably not most of the stuff on the water. Sorry.

;) OK...SO RIGHT NOW I STILL HAVE A TEPPANYAKI ADR FOR 6:20. SHOULD I JUST KEEP THAT AND CANCEL LE CELLIER IF WE WANT TO NOT RUSH AND SEE ILLUMINATIONS???:confused3

TEPPANYAKI WILL BE JUST OPENED FROM ITS THE RENOVATION AND WE KNOW WE LOVE THAT TYPE OF FOOD??:thumbsup2

MAYBE WE CAN DO LECELLIER ON OUR NEXT TRIP CAUSE I DO PLAN TO RETURN AS MANY TIMES AS I POSSIBLY CAN!!:rolleyes1

I REALLY DO WANT TO SEE ILLUMINATIONS!! I LOVE IT. IT IS A SAT NIGHT SO EPCOT WILL PROBABLY BE BUSY EVEN THOUGH IT IS A SLOW TIME OF YEAR.

THANKS FOR ALL THE ADVICE!;)

I wouldn't count on being out of there without having to rush through your meal.

Maybe do LeCellier for lunch instead?

Last time we ate at LeCellier, it took them nearly 45 minutes before they could seat our table of 3. This was in Sept 2005 during the first free dining. Our ADR was probably around 7pm.

I wish you good luck with your timing!

Hi BabyJosie98 - I was in the same boat as you and I took the Teppanyaki ressie cause my dd loves Benihana here but I persisted and got lucky enough to snag a 4:10 @ Le Cellier which is a bit early for me but hey it's the first dinner seating I'm sure and I love love love the filet there so I figured with the wait we'll be seated by 4:30 ish and finished dinner by 5:30 or 6:00. That works out just fine for me. By the way this is for 8/23 so keep calling and checking for cancellations if you can otherwise enjoy Teppanyaki. I wish I could do both but this is a shorter trip so it's not possible. Next time perhaps.

I don't agree - there are so many nice places to see Illuminations, you can easily find one without 5 minutes. They may not be up in the first layer of people, but the globe is large and easily seen around the lagoon.

I have never waited an hour in a spot for Illuminations - the one time I did get there early (in 1999) to take photos, people cut in front of me. I ended up getting invited into a private area around Italy and took them (with my tripod). Normally I get a spot for Illuminations 5 minutes prior to the start of it.

I doubt a 7:50pm ressie will allow you to see the start of Illuminations.

Well I would keep the Tepanyaki and keep calling, you might get lucky. Also, I would cancel that Le Cellier, you have two ADR's and they are getting tougher with that. Yours are several hours apart though so that is probably not going to flag them. Just know that last trip I decided to swap 1900 Park Fare for Boma. I always like to make the new one before I cancel the old one and when I went to cancel (in the same call) she told me she had already done that since they are not allowed to not cancel if they see a double booking. And I also agree with others, Le Cellier is frequently a wait to be seated past ADR time kind of place. Its doubtful you could make Illuminations with that time.

And yes that is a slow time of year. But obviously people are making lots of reservations anticpating free dining. If that free dining doesn't happen there will be a lot of cancellations.

Whatever you decide to do, enjoy your birthday dinner. My birthday is the day after yours. Too bad I won't be at WDW for it.

I don't know how far in South Jersey you are, but I'm in Central and Arirang blows Benihana out of the water! You should try it. Also, we have a 4:00pm seating for Le Cellier. We thought we wouldn't like it but last trip we had the same and it worked out great. We were seated immediately. Just have an early or light lunch! :thumbsup2
