Hi,

We managed to reserve a table at Chef Mickey's at 7:45 PM.
If we use the monorail to get back to magic kingdom, is there any chance we'll make it on time for Wishes at 9:00 PM?

Thanks!

Dinner at Chef Mickey's will take at least an hour and there is no guarantee you will be seated on time, so, I would say there is no way you will make it back into MK to see Wishes either walking or using the monorail. You may be able to see them from the 4th floor observation deck at CR. Unfortunately, I think you will have to choose which one you would rather do - Chef Mickey's or Wishes. OR try to find an earlier Chef Mickey's.

You might not. With that said there is a Wishes viewing deck on the same floor.

The monorail is also the slowest way to MK from Contemporary, as from CR you go TTC > Poly > GF > MK. You would be better served walking back (10 minute walk), but you'll still need to clear security back into the park.

If seated on time, you would be walking out of CM ~8:45. 10 minute walk or 20 minute monorail, then security, so I agree you wouldn't be back to the park in position for Wishes.

Is it a dinner buffet? If so can't you leave on your own time? I could certainly be in and out of a buffet meal in 45 minutes

It is a character meal though so if seeing the character is important (usually is with little ones) they say 90 minutes as a buffer to see all characters.

And, really: There is no reason to eat at Chef Mickey if you aren't there for the characters. If the characters are not important, drop it, go to Cosmic Ray's or something, watch Wishes. E-Z P-Z. I will listen to no argument that Chef Mickey is a culinary tour de force not to be missed for the reason of the food, because I think even its fans can't make that argument with a straight face.

Agreed it is just ok so not worth missing fireworks over IMO but need a place you can be silly and have edible food and Chef Mickey's is your place.

There's no way. Even if you got seated on time, rushed through dinner, didn't see all the characters and walked to MK (it's much quicker and more reliable to walk); I just don't see any way for you to make it through security and the gates in time to see Wishes at 9. A 7pm ADR would much more realistic, and again walk...

Oh, sure, but if you are not there for Mickey and pals, Sonny Eclipse does the job on a good schedule - silly and edible.

Sometimes, CM's runs behind in seating. Maybe not on your night, but it could happen. I can't imagine how you would make it to MK for Wishes. Why rush through such a fun and expensive experience? I'd choose the one of those two events that was most important to you. The possibilities for disappointment with that kind of schedule are very high!

Very doubtful. Unless you can get an earlier time, I would enjoy the character meal for what it is. go out on the deck and enjoy the show. We have done that many times at California Grill. Arranged our dinner so that after appetizers, we go out on the deck, watch the show and then come back in for our entree. Your server should be able to help you with the timing. To enjoy Chef Mickeys and try and get to the park (walking is much faster than the monorail), would be really pushing it if even possible. If you could do it, I think it would ruin each piece of the evening.

No, this is not possible. When I am faced with this kind of situation I always decide which one is most important, and drop the other. There is no fun in trying to be in two places at one time, and that is generally waht happens when there are two obligations too close together.
