I’ve booked a trip to LV DL and San Diego. Had to make a change in flight dates which now means we are visiting DL over 4th July. Should I try and move my dates (go to San Diego and do DL on way home) We are staying at Hilton, driving from Vegas on 3rd and checking out on 7th. Was so excited to be booking this trip didn’t look at dates 🤪 First time to DL have done WDW once and used this site to plan every hour of that holiday (it was fantastic and wouldn’t have been so successful without all the help and recommendations) and now feeling deflated as may have made a massive error with my dates ☹️

That whole week will be pretty busy but, I’d definitely avoid going to DL ON the 4th, that’s when it will be the craziest.
I disagree ... the 4th will be busy but its blacked out for most passes and employee sign ins usually so it is not wall to wall people. I have been there on the 4th several times and I have been there around Christmas time and it is not nearly as crowded on the 4th in comparison.
Get there early in the day and have hoppers, you will have fun.

We loved the 4th!! yes it was busy, but we had a great time. I recommend avoiding Disneyland park as the evening comes unless the 4th July fireworks are a must. The 4th of July WOC pre show was pretty awesome and then we caught Disneyland fireworks in the esplanade on our way back to the hotel.

I went to the parks for the 4th in both 2018 and 2019. Normal summer crowds. Nothing crazy. If anything, I felt like the crowds in the morning were lighter than normal. Fireworks will obviously have a big crowd, but that's expected anywhere.

The 4th has been on a weekday for the last few years -- that makes a difference. The last time the 4th was on a weekend, it was crazy. However, Disney had the special fireworks show on the nights preceding the 4th (and even on the 5th, one year), that helped spread the crowds. The day crowds were the worst for the 4th, Disney had bands throughout DTD, swing dancing for each band, the events in the parks... it was just asking for very crowded conditions. Management wasn't happy and that level of celebration hasn't happened again since. The past several years have been pretty low key, which is why posters are saying that the parks haven't been crazy on the 4th -- they haven't been crazy because DLR management has deliberately planned for that. This year, we'll see what happens. I think it will be more crowded than the past few years because of the weekend. But I doubt Disney will go all out (based on the current penny pinching we're seeing in the parks -- this isn't exactly a lavish spending period) -- so it may well turn out to be a "crowded, but not insane" weekend. OP, if you want to spend the holiday at the parks, go for it! Just plan well (have MP, any TS reservations, and dining packages for shows), bring a positive attitude, and go have fun!

I think you'll be okay. As others said it'll be busy but not horribly crowded. Last year I was planning a trip over the 4th and decided against it. I watched the app during the days we would have been there and it wasn't nearly as bad as I anticipated -- I was definitely kicking myself afterward!
