If I take a 7:35 ADR at Rose & Crown and we are finished before Illuminations at 9:00 will they still allow us to view the show from the patio? I already have an 8:00 reservation for show viewing on a different day, but now I need to cancel that and switch my days and was still hoping to see the show from their patio. What do you think? I'm willing to get drinks, appetizers and desserts in addition to dinner to stretch it out. :goodvibes

I have never heard that they will permit you to leave and come back in, but if you're still in the restaurant they have a viewing area they will let you watch from.

I think the OP is asking whether or not they will make her leave once they are done eating, or if they can sit around waiting for Illuminations to begin.

If I were you I would plan on having a nice, long, relaxed dinner. I don't know how fast you eat, but it usually takes me at least an hour for a sit down meal. It wouldn't be hard to stretch that to an hour and half/two hours with an appetizer, an alcoholic beverage, etc.

I do want to comment, however, that when I watched Illuminations while eating dinner on the patio at Rose and Crown I ended up with quite a bit of firework debris in my food.

I'd order stuff and eat slowly rather than just sit around waiting. I don't know if they'd ask you to leave or not, but it'd make me uncomfortable to just sit there.

You may not get seated at 7:30. The one time I had dinner there, it was over 30 minutes to get seated.

We had an ADR for 7:30 and were lucky enough to get a patio seat. We were nervous that they would rush us to leave but as they were seating us, they said, "And you have a perfect spot for the fireworks!" So, I think they EXPECT that if you have an ADR any time after 7, you are going to want to stay for Illuminations. :thumbsup2

We had a 7:15 reservation in August and were seated at about 7:30 or so. The server said he'd slow down the meal for us. We finished just before 9:00 and then he escorted us to the viewing area on the patio.

How was the viewing? Were you glad you were able to see it from the patio there or didn't it really make a difference?

The viewing is nice. For us, the benefit is that we didn't have to try to find a place around the lagoon. We ate dinner and then watched the show.

Well, I took the 7:35 ADR and will hope for the best! I guess if we're done well before 9pm we'll just choose a different viewing area. I wanted to try out this restaurant anyway and I'll just think of it as a nice bonus if we're able to view Illuminations from their patio.

We have a 7:40 p.m. reservation (with Illuminations at 9 p.m.) in less than two weeks. Will let you know how it goes and will post a few pics. :)

They allocate a two hour time slot per table so even if you are finished eating before the beginning of IlluniNations they are more than happy for you to stay.

When I went in Sept we started off inside and the server asked if we would like to watch so that they can time courses around the show and so they can let you know when it is time to go to the viewing area. Literally just as our main courses came out the server asked if we still wanted to watch. Of course saying yes he told us that there was now a table outside! It was the best view possible IMO and it brought a tear to my eye even though I have seen it lots and lots of time!

Do you think 7:20 is early enough to get a table outside though?
See my last (amended) post!

You are not guarenteed a table outside though even if you get there 'on time'. Make sure they know that you do want to be seated outside if possible and that you would be willing to move if a table becomes free later on. You will still get a very good view from the viewing area if you cannot get a table outside.

We have ADR at 7:50, but I am now concerned about the picky eaters in our group. We have some who would live on hamburgers or steak. Any suggestions? I've looked at the menus, and I'm still concerned.
