For this cruise in general it sounds as though we have to plan for at least the possibility of cool weather and rain every day -- you can get lucky and get a warm day, but it just luck! Every trip report I read mentions carrying a travel umbrella and jacket on port days . . .
I haven't cruised it before, but DCL is limiting it to the best month or two, I have looked into it over the weekend and June and July are good months.
I have to say the issue could be the North Sea out of Dover, that is so unpredictable, the wind direction should be good at that time of year but here in the Uk we may get rain we may get wind we might have sun.
July should be a better than average month for Sunshine for us what ever happens in the UK often then goes to Europe.
The Med was great bar that last sea day I agree, it will not be as hot as that, but good sightseeing weather.
Hi everyone- just checking in before I leave school- some of the teachers said the Baltic is very rough... any comments??? I cant imagine spending this money and being sick... the Med was so great- so calm except for one night, and I felt it right away in the dining room.![]()

Missed it by " " that much.
Congrats Julie. I too thought it was strange without Tom.
We had extremely smooth seas this past July. It's like cruising anywhere else, the luck of the draw with the seas and the weather.
We also had good weather, it was anywhere from 65 and raining up to 85 in Amsterdam. We also had a beautiful day in London, my friends' said it was the nicest day of the summer.
Imagine how our post count could go with her and Andrew both on this thread!![]()
Excuse me??![]()

.....here's the weather from our 7/08 Baltics cruise:
London, day of sightseeing - upper 60's, very sunny
Dover, embarkation day - upper 60's, sunny with a few clouds
Sea day - sunny, smooth seas
Copenhagen - upper 60's, cloudy in morning needed a jacket for walking into town then they went in the backpack, partly sunny
Warnemunde - we stayed in port and it rained in the morning twice (quite hard the first time) then sun came out and it was low 70's. Other who went to Berlin said it was low 60's and rainy all day
Sea day - sunny, smooth seas
Helsinki - sunny, mid 60's
St. Petersburg, day 1 - cool in the morning and then upper 60's, low 70's in the afternoon, very sunny
St. Petersburg, day 2 - rained most of the day, low 60's We were told that was typical StP weather
Tallinn - upper 60's, low 70's very sunny
2 sea days - sunny, smooth seas once again
Amsterdam - 85 and very sunny, got sunburnt
Dover, debarkation day - sunny and nice when we got off the ship at 7:45
We had a little rain very early one morning, but can't remember which. We woke up to a wet verandah.
We used our verandah every day and night. It was so nice sitting out there in the morning in full sunlight (we were on the starboard side) catching the rays watching all the super-size ferries and ships. We could also see the shoreline or at least the lights of the shoreline and it was so peaceful.
We only wore our jackets a couple of mornings and in StP the 2nd day. That was also the only time we used our umbrellas.
