But after that I agree with you, I wouldnt book a cruise on a new ship for the reaosn of snagging issues.

We did book our Carnival cruise last year knowing it was an innaugural sailing, but since it left from Dover we figured the worst that would happen if the sailing was delayed we would visit our friends in England and enjoy time there. This would have been the case since our airfare was non-refundable.
I just remember the fiasco of the Magic's innaugural sailing being delayed several times and finally sailed 3 months late. But I haven't read of any significant ship delays lately.

It gets so much bad publicity, and damages the brand so much, so Disney would not allow that bad press, at all, its a non allowable thing. Yes there hasn't been any high profile ones so such a time as it would be headline news around the world.

We are not amused!!!

OK, for those that have asked, DH is officially on the case and hopefully i'll have something concrete tomorrow. Apologies for delay, DH got back from Germany mOnday night just as I left for a 2 day course in Bristol!

Hoping that there may be some announcement on shore excursions as well as the inaugural sailings - can't wait to really start planning that bit!

I don't think anyone has agreed to co-ordinate this, but if there is sufficient interest, or even just a couple of others that want to take part, I'm happy to do the admin part of a fish extender exchange.

If you are interested in joining in, please e-mail me (panama08@ntlworld.com).

If you have no idea what I'm going on about, I'm sure between us all we can enlighten you!

If this is going to happen, I'll try & post a monthly summary of number of cabins involved etc. so those that are making/buying know what they a re aiming for (I'm hoping for less than the Panama Canal!)

:thumbsup2

:thumbsup2 Great cruise, loved Venice this year, saw one cruise ship sail right up close, I am off to Rhodes Greece in 2010 pre this cruise.

Funny you should post this my kids want to start up a Kids cruise meets thread for this cruise, they have done this on their recent cruises and its been most successful.

My kids are Alice 13 and Stephen 11, they like to have penfriends before a cruise, and actually keep in touch now with previous cruisers, some they have seen on a couple of cruises.

If there is interest AL'N'STEVE will set one up, I told them to delay till six months pre cruise, ans interest is low at the start but gains momentum. Often they have friends for the whole cruise, and meet up as soon as they get on ship, avoiding that, no one knows me first day, with a ready made friendship.

Now there were people suggesting a pizza party on my veranda, ?? getting concierge to get some in?? My kids like the idea, the Mrs doesnt.
Gee Mine has that same problem!:worship::lmao:

By your screen name you must drive a Mini, I have one too. We are in DE so I don't go up your way, Philly scares me to drive there. :rotfl2: I do go to KofP or the new Premium Outlets and Franklin Mills. (yes Robert you do see a shopping pattern there :upsidedow )
I thought no such thing! You Shop! Though Harrods being right next to the royal garden hotel is a plus!:thumbsup2

Morning Robert, I see you've changed my name. :rotfl2: :lmao: :headache: :rotfl: I used to it from the main boards, but found it very funny you did that.
Sorry but I have a lot on my mind The new car for my son showed up at the Dodge dealer on Tuesday & he did not call me I noticed it online, just came back from the dealer's & he says he is waiting for the certificate of origin!:confused3

Do you know I was thinking this the last few days, to offset the announcement of the DREAM tonight, they should release tempting shore trips for Europe at the same time.

Otherwise there could be some booking transferred then regretted.

Maybe they will be out by the time Gold and Platinum CC cruisers can book.

Yes we had a discussion on this, the KIDS want a party, there was a post in the last week of someone in a suite saying that the kids asked concierge if they could have a party, and the next thing, lots of whole pizza came down the same as pizza delivery.

However 'er indoors says No!!!

It was a great day at DL yesterday. The weather was perfect and they made Space Mountain spooky for Halloween! That was the longest line with an 80 minute wait, but we had picked up a fast pass, so it was not bad. All the other rides we got on in under 15 minutes. I just love the fall decorations. No fireworks because we had winds yesterday, but the Celebration parade was fun. It was just a wonderful day!:cloud9:

Anyone have any pcitures to share??

I know towards the end there's a couple pics of FE's people have recently made.
I've also heard of people just using a tote bag rather than go thru all this trouble.

We haven't been on a cruise that's had an FE and I'm not sure I'm going to do it on this one either. After seeing all the loot some people are getting, I'm rather concerned about all the space taking the gifts over and even more concerned about the space needed to bring stuff home.

Maybe I should also stay where you are staying to be closer to Harrod's. Nah...that would be a huge problem for me. But an even bigger problem for you and my DH if Denise and I went there by ourselves. :scared1: :lmao:

No problem on the name I thought it was funny.
:headache: Oops on the dealer not calling, but they need that certificate of origin before you can buy it.
We are thinking of getting another car so I'm looking for ideas. We'll get the one that we have in FL tagged down there, for tax purposes, and then get another one for here. Anyone have any ideas?!? :confused3 I first thought about a Mustang but shot down that idea, then looked at the Hondas and wasn't thrilled with any of them, I don't want a Dodge (1 in the driveway is enough), thought about another Mini but want something a bit bigger, thought about another Land Rover but don't like the price. So I'm back to square 1 and have no clue what to get or even look at.

We had a few problems on the innaugural but nothing I would call earth shattering. The hot chocolate machine stopped working on about day 8 (and it was really good stuff), ice cream machines wouldn't always work, but the thing that I didn't like not working right all the time was the jets in the therapy in the spa. Ok, I could call that earth shattering since the bottom jets felt really good on my foot and when they stopped working I was really bummed, but I got over it.
The funniest thing was they put the wrong curtains and the wrong table in our suite and had to come and change them out. Our cabin host was so appologetic and couldn't understand how they made the mistake in the first place. We didn't know and didn't care but they replaced them anyways.

We didn't do fish extenders but we did do gifts. It was fun, but I don't know if I will do it this time. I made totes for each family and we brought gifts for the kids. Thanks for the thread!
