Makes you a bit paranoid!

Well best wishes, don't throw your back out again with all of this! We had an amazingly beautiful day today...........mid 60s, we bike rode with the Rents in NJ, great for our spirits too!:beach:

Oh my gosh, you guys are talking cruise talk!!!!!!!!:cheer2: :cheer2:
I am so looking foward to St. Petersburg, there is so much to see and I guess I will have to save Moscow for another time.
Congratulations on your new tag Mike!! Now really, did you do that yourself?:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Glad you are feeling better Andrew. Walking can help a multitude of ailments!

:confused3 Yes I was thinking the same thing......cruise chat? :scratchin

:goodvibes So who's watching the Grammys tonight??:cool1:

When they did the Med cruises did they have local talent come onboard and do shows like is being speculated for StP?

On our Baltics cruise the only place they brought on local talent was a band in Warnemunde that played for a couple of hours before we left. There was no talent brought on in StP. I would think part of that would be since they offered evening tours they didn't want to onboard talent to compete with the cruiseline excursions. Frankly, after a full day of touring I wouldn't have wanted to sit thru a show that night.

Yes, they did -- they had a Spanish dance group come on in Barcelona -- a Cirque du Soliel type group based in Marsailles for that night . . . on the Panama Canal cruise they had a local Mexican folkloric dance group come in on Puerta Vallarta night . . .

I have the same issues with St P though -- doesn't DCL want people to book its evening excursions that first night? I would think it would be more likely to have a group come on the night we leave -- with that late a departure, they could do two shows and still get off the ship well before departure.

Thanks for the info on Moscow, Andrew.

Glad your back is better.

Stay dry!

Evening all

we finally warmed up this weekend and all of our snow and ice has melted just leaving brown grass and some mud in places - supposed to stay above 32 this week and lots of rain - oh joy

swim season is offically over for Kara - she didn't qualify in high school to move on - first time in 3 years - so she is done

have a great weekend one and all

:)

Jennifer Hudson just won..........remember she had her start on the Magic!

Looks like I need to be keeping an eye on a few of you!! :magnify:

That whole Mario thing started when there was a rumor that he might be on the Panama Canal cruise....I'm innocent, I tell ya! :confused3
:yay: Hey Stace:yay: You'd be able to keep a better eye on us coming on this cruise;)

Back is about 95% there the walking to work in the snow for a few days actually helped.
I was told that walking can help keep the muscles from tightening up:confused3
Glad you're feeling better:thumbsup2

I have friends from Russia when I told them that we would be in StPetersburgh for 2 day's they laughed & said 2 weeks would not be enough!

When I told them about a side trip to Moscow they said that U can do Moscow in a day!

With 6 of us the side trip to Moscow will probably be to much, besides having to deal with the kids I can imagine that it will be $500 to $1000 per person!
So funny, Darren's Russian friends said the same thing:thumbsup2

Caro or Andrew need location help. Blaine, WA what is there to do in that area and what airport is the best one to fly into for there?

Our late summer plans have totally changed as I've had to cancel DD's trip abroad and we are now thinking of taking a week's vacation in mid-August. Looking at tons of options with our timeshare. I saw the one in Blaine, WA and thought that would be totally different for us.

thanks,
We're in Brazil for my brother's wedding mid-August. Ever been there ?

I'm thinking that the first night would be better for us to stay out later. My thoughts are maybe to eat lunch right before we get off the ship. then we can tour for a while, have dinner, then maybe do the folklore show the first night. That will save going back and forth to the ship. And I agree that I wouldn't want to cut it too close getting back to the ship on the second night.
Mike, isn't there a folklore dinner show ? A bit expensive (I think), but maybe save time ?
I'm having a hard time figuring out what to do. My list of "must sees" just seems too long:sad2:
I don't want mutiny from my crew:scared:

Yea, put me in a dark theater after a long active day and I'm liable to fall asleep:rolleyes1

Love the marching band pics:thumbsup2
My DS15 is also in marching band, also clarinet. Boy, I don't think he ever worked so hard in his life as he did in marching band.
Is Kara the one in marching band ?

DH and I went to see the movie "Taken" today. It was much better than I thought it would be:goodvibes
Liam Neeson does a great job. Very violent film though for a PG-13 rating:confused3
I'd let my DS15 see it, but I'll make my DD (almost 12) wait.

Sorry Laurie, can't help you with Brazil. I guess my travel knowledge just came to a quick stop for you. (she says hanging her head in shame :guilty: :sad2: )

Barb, the weather looks great for tomorrow -- warming up to the mid 40's and no precip . . . enjoy the day!
