So I see we seem to have gone full circle back to one of our original chats about food and food names. I will reitterate ...... there is no such thing as an English muffin :confused3 :confused3 :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Hey this is an American site we eat French toast, French fries, French bread, why not an English Muffin?

You have something against the English? Huh?:headache: :furious:

I hate to contradict you honey, but this is the cruise forum and this website is advertised worldwide. In the Davis house we have egg bread, chips, baguettes and crumpets ::yes:: ::yes:: :lovestruc

It was more of a Monologue! :mic: Take my Son/Daughter, Please!:rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao: :hyper:

Rabbi did review & give suggestions,:sad2: most of which I ignored! :hyper:

Sounds about right :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I think we do things differently over here ....... but of course I hear you reply

We have the Saturday service, followed by Kiddish, then we're having immediate family and overseas guests back to our house for lunch. If the weather is nice lunch will probably stretch into a nighttime barbeque. Then on Sunday night we have the big "do". Other than Joshua's Dvar Torah all speeches are done on Sunday night. Josh gets the pleasure of having to do 2 as he's got the Dvar Torah and his barmitzvah response.   For once I'm not going to be saying anything ...... and you can save the remarks :p :p :p

Remarks me?

No I only had 1 speech and the kids have 1. Our events can be broken up into a day night affair, or happen right after the Service & Kiddush.

I have not heard of 2 days but if you got the money!:lmao:

But you have it all on the Saturday right ?

It's the "norm" over here to have the "party" in whatever format it's going to be on the Sunday night

I don't know if I've ever been to the clubs after dinner. Oh wait ... we did go to Diversions last cruise on the last night. We usually just wander around after dinner and then check out the snack tables by the clubs to see what goodies they've put out - mostly looking for the choc. covered strawberries.
chocolate covered strawberries-yum
I love em too::yes::

Congats on the pirate: Laurie :cheer2:
Thanks:goodvibes

That's me - hunting for those chocolate covered strawberries.

I'm not big on most of the clubs, but pub night is fun.
I love pub night !!
I've only been to two, but it is such a cool way to end the cruise.

She said she liked Pirate Scoobypirate: pirate:
:thumbsup2

Well, for being in the South , we woke up with about an inch of ice on the trees and everything else. I got home last night and couldn't even get in the driveway, the tree was hanging so low it was almost touching the ground. About 30 minutes later a major part of the tree crashed into the driveway.

Thank goodness for great neighbors with chain saws and teenage sons. They had my driveway cleared in about 30 minutes.[/SIZE:cheer2: :thumbsup2

Now we just want some warm weather and we can watch the reports of flooding.

Wow, you do have great neighbors:thumbsup2
Glad no one was hurt.

Hello to all Who Ballyhoo

Do not be alarmed by the fact that my Dear Sweet Caro has not posted this morning and might not be as Chattilicious as normal. She alas is feeling unwell  and is currently recuperating by still slumbering. So send her :grouphug: and pixiedust: and I am sure she will be :thumbsup2 soon.
ooooh, sorry to hear this Caro :grouphug:

Congrats on the pirate: Laurie!!!!!!
Thanks:thumbsup2

Thank you for asking, good news is that I can walk around and have been back to work, bad news is the pain is bad, in the mornings and I can only describe myself as stiff in the mornings ( before any quips;) Dis board guidelines please:sad2: ).

Particularly bad this morning, hard getting in/out the car, but :scared: get the odd sharp pain, maybe a trapped nerve.
Take it easy and slow:grouphug: Slow, small movements to keep the muscles from stiffening up.
Yes, it definitely sounds like a pinched nerve:sad2:
Hang in there:grouphug:

I'm alive! I'm still unwell, but I did manage to get up, shower and have an english muffin.
:cheer2: Glad you're feeling better:flower3:

But you have it all on the Saturday right ?

It's the "norm" over here to have the "party" in whatever format it's going to be on the Sunday night

We follow the US Conservative movement so at the Temple U can have lunch after the services & U can have a band however they would have to bring their instruments into the building on Friday before 3PM and everything has to be Kosher. Or U can wait for the party untill after sunset & the band can come then however all still must be Kosher!::yes::

Or if U do not follow Kashrut as my family does not, U can have the party outside the Temple and do as U please night or day!:cool1: :thumbsup2

I have heard of really large Bar Mitzvah's where they have services, a kiddush afterwards, then a big lavish night time party and a smaller breakfast or brunch the following day for all who came from out of town!:scared:

We don't keep strickly kosher either, that's why were having a small Kiddush at Shul, then lunch at our house which is being catered by a very small firm which is not under the Beth Din but as their is only immediate family and out of towners that ok. On Sunday we're at the London Aquarium and that will be Kosher as various offshoots of family are kosher as are alot of the kids Josh goes to school with. I guess the caterer brings all the kitchen stuff with him along with the food as the caterer is under the Beth Din.

I suppose over here we've typically gone with the Sunday party as then there are no restrictions on time when setting up etc. Only downside is it can make for a very late Sunday night which is bloody akward when you#ve got to pickup from somewhere in London at 11:30pm and you've got to get up for work/school the next morning :crazy2: :crazy2: :crazy2:

Thanks,

The only thing they prescribed was painkillers, I do not like taking them unless I have to, I know its silly, but don't like to rely on it. But did take them this morning as it was a bit bad....

As my ortho has told me, you need to take the painkillers so your body can heal properly. If you don't take them you body is trying to fight the pain. I don't like to take them either, but sometime you gotta do it.
I've heard the same thing. Your body responds to the pain and can slow the healing. I have also heard of people developing an addiction to the pain pills prescribed for back pain so I understand Andrew's concern as well. The solution I guess is a compromise -to take them when you really need them, but taper off as you start to feel better. I think if you're careful Andrew you won't need to worry about dependency:confused3
When I needed them in the past I just made sure to take smallest amount needed to function comfortably:confused3
GOOD MORNING, AFTERNOON AND EVENING BALLYHOOERS!!

I'm feeling much better this morning and am going to work. WOO HOO, IT'S FRIDAY!!
:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :cool1: :cheer2:

Yup, been to one of those::yes::
The family had lots of money:confused3

We're in for a real chill over the next few days. Our weather is coming directly in from Russia. Today high of 6C, Saturday 6C, Sunday 0C (with a windchill of -7C) and snow on Sunday and Monday :crazy2: :crazy2:

Of course 6C is 42F. At that our ice would melt. Send us some warm winds and good thoughts.:rotfl2: :wave2:

Yup to much for me after having 2 the quicker it is over the more I like it!:thumbsup2

Took our new dog, Kayla to clicker dog training last night for the first time. She was so excited as the bad weather has made it hard to go out like we usually do.
For those not familar with it, clicker training is how they train animals (dogs, dolphins, horses, etc) by marking a desired behavior with a clicker and then a treat. It makes it easier for the animal to learn good behavior. So far she is doing great:goodvibes

Gotta go...
I have work to catch up on today:rolleyes:
Hopefully I'll drop by later:flower3:

Have a good Friday everyone:grouphug:
