Sounds interesting! Thanks for the info.

They did a lot of these VIP or signature trips in the Med I remember the private vintage car hire was in Villafrance for Monte Carlo, and some VIP tours for Florence and Pisa as well, I think this is a business expansion for them as it brings in more $'s.

As we haven't had one, todays ADVENT CALENDER, for you.

Funny thing happened last night, I was over on the 8/15 Tortola thread saying it was getting a bit late for DCL to put up the Tortola shore trips, first cruise there is 4/25 and 105 days before is around January 10th. So not long.

Me and another disser from Essex England were discussing this and I checked the DCL site twice, it wasn't up at all, but an hour later they were all up.

Now, are they reading 'all' my posts????:rotfl:

By the way the trips look rather nice! I get to book mine May 2nd funny enough thats the last night of the first Tortola cruise so I will not be able to get in any comments back form that cruise before booking.

They have put up a couple of signature shore trips on that cruise and i expect them to have some for us in 2010.

You know that they do, Andrew!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

School cancelled again for the girls! I'm sure they are celebrating! :cool1: They won't be as happy when they have to make those days up later this year!

We have the possibility of a real snow tomorrow and again in Sunday . . . I love snow, and particularly just before Christmas, so I have my fingers crossed.

Hello all -- well, I got the dreaded call from the school nurse earlier today about my youngest . . . it seems she had gone in asking for a note so that she wouldn't have to sing because it hurts too much (she is in the midst of rehearsals for a concert on Friday -- and loves to sing) and the nurse said her throat looked terrible and needed to be tested for strep! She had complained off and on for a few days of her throat bothering her, but honestly this time of year it seems we always have some kind of low-grade this or that. So I picked her up from school, took her to the doctor, and she tested positive for strep -- so she is on antibiotics now and will finish up the day before we board the Magic for our New Year's Eve cruise . . . hopefully the antibiotics will kick in soon and she will feel better . . . and fingers crossed no one else in the family ends up with it!

Oh No - I hope she gets better soon. Tell her I send her my best wishes and so do the kids. If she had to get it better now then next week

Exactly -- if you have to get strep this time of year, better diagnosed yesterday than a week from yesterday! I will give her your love, Jo, and look forward to getting together in the new year . . .

:tinker: pixiedust: Here's some pixie dust hoping the dreaded illness stays away from the rest of the family. pixiedust:

Sending lots of pixiedust: that you all stay healthy, wealthy and wise! :santa: (Sorry - couldn't help myself on that)

Just doing a :drive: that all are well, anyone got any suggestions on what to get the man that can buy himself whatever he wants? I'm so confused!!!!

:confused3

 Oh yeah - loved everyone's Christmas cards! Thanks so much for sharing! :grouphug:

 to your daughter Julie and wishes that she'll be well enough for the concert and that no one else gets sick. The antibiotics should work quickly so I'm sure she'll be fine.

We are expecting snow here. My classes have their trimester exam tomorrow and I hope we have school or the exam will be cancelled until Monday. I just want to get it over with and have the weekend to grade them. We'll see......

Good luck with your computer troubles, Barb.

Thank you all for the cards. I can't wait to meet all of you!!!!! :yay:

Thanks for the well wishes . . . if the antibiotics work as I have seen them do before, she will be much better tomorrow and able to go to school on Friday (and sing!) . . . fingers crossed, anyway. Better it happen now than on Christmas eve or Christmas, or getting on the ship, right?

Julie here is lots of pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: for you and the girls. I hope the sore throat is gone by now. I know with me that a sore throat is the beginning of bigger and better things to come! I have not been well for nearly two weeks and we are flying out really early Monday morning for our dd's in South Carolina. I have had a z-pack which is usually my salvation, but I think I got it too late!

Someone asked about the Sugar Coated Pecans and they are so easy and good and quick...here is the recipie...

1 egg whiite
4 cups pecans
1 cup sugar
4 tablespoons cinnamon

Beat egg white until foamy. Add pecans and toss until well coated. Combine sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over pecans and toss to coat well. Spread in a single layer on an ungreased baking sheet.

Bake at 300 degrees for 30 minutes. After 15 minutes, turn pecans with a spatula. Cool on waxed paper, gently breaking up if necessary after they cool.

If you can keep your family out of them, they make nice gifts to put in the decorated zip lock bags. I usually have to hide what I want to give away or they will be eaten too quickly!:lmao:

I am waiting until the last minute to make them before we go to South Carolina so I will have some to take...those and the peanutbutter fudge.

I think I will have one suitcase of goodies and one of presents and clothes! I don't know what the airlines will think of a container of frozen holiday soup!:confused3 I remember when I had roast beef and spaghetti sauce in my carry on, but that was a few years ago!

Oh Harole Ann,

You are still not feeling well  :sad1: . Well here's some prayers and pixie dust coming your way. Enjoy your trip. Some chicken soup right about now might help.

Just doing a :drive: that all are well, anyone got any suggestions on what to get the man that can buy himself whatever he wants? I'm so confused!!!!

Thanks, Laura . . . I would suggest getting Steve an "experience" as a present -- people are less likely to buy experiences for themselves than a physical item. Depending on your budget and what he likes, perhaps sporting tickets to something he had wanted to go to but hasn't, something like the Richard Petty driving thing at WDW, etc. I see lots of things to bid on for charity around here that involve walk on roles on TV shows, movies, or Broadway, but I don't know if you can find something like that with Hollywood so close????? Anyway, just start thinking of "experiences" for him and see what you can come up with . . .

 to your daughter Julie and wishes that she'll be well enough for the concert and that no one else gets sick. The antibiotics should work quickly so I'm sure she'll be fine.

Thanks, MaryAnn, I think I saw an improvement late today . . . hopefully she will be well enough tomorrow to go to school and be in her holiday concert! We are expecting snow as well . . .

Thanks, Maryann--believe it or not, I have tried the chicken soup, the hot tea and even a sip of the brandy when I wrapped the fruit cake this weekend. I just don't want my ears hurting on the flight!

How was your get away weekend?

Thanks, Harole Ann . . . her throat was still sore today, pretty bad still this morning but better by night. Good luck for you improving more before you leave on Monday:flower3: :flower3: :flower3:[/quote]

I have really been taking it easy, like I feel like doing anything else! I want to be ready for Monday...not sure if the weather man in going to go along with us as snow is in the forecast for Sunday night and Monday!:happytv: . They have been wrong earlier this week with snow and ice so I hope they are wrong for Sunday. With no school on Monday they will be in no hurry to do anything to the roads, especially when we are leaving home about 5:00am!

What day to you leave, Julie?

Computer update....my personal Geek Squad (my friend) fixed my computer. He had to install a new hard drive and then reload all the programs. At least now we have a computer that we can print from, which is good for DD and her project this coming week and we can also print our boarding passes for our flight Christmas night.
He'll work on getting the wi-fi working on the wireless printer when he comes back up here from FL next month. Then we'll really be in business with 2 working computers that will both print. :cool1:

Thanks for the pecan recipe. They sound very yummy and so easy to make. I might have to give them a shot. I have some macadamia nuts in the freezer and I bet I could use them as well.

Again, thanks to all for the cards with nice notes and pics. :flower3:

Really, thx for posting this..........we're also sailing the Tortola trip (we are also going in April, so maybe I can try a few things before the cruise!):thumbsup2
