Signing in and subscribing. We booked this cruise in June last year. I've been meaning to post and kept getting distracted. It will be myself, DH, and DD(20). I will attempt to access the facebook group as well. DD still keeps up with a facebook group of kids from the 2011 Med cruise. She's hoping the college group is as much fun as last year's Alaskan bunch. I'm in the middle of planning excursions and am trying to get past all the 7:15 start times!

OMG... my daughter keeps up with a Facebook group on our 2011 Med cruise... She is 17 now, and this is her last Vibe sailing. She's asking for a Hail Mary cruise right before her 18th birthday and bring her friends so she can go one last time.

My son has had a miserable time trying to meld in with the college groups. They are not very well organized, and he's shy, so the small numbers have been tough. There are a number of young 20's on this cruise, I was wondering if they need to start a pre-cruise support group. I really wish that DCL would do something a bit more with the college students - they really don't have a niche for the young adults on the ship, and the programming available leaves a little to be desired.

...all that is a long way around saying WELCOME!!!!

Welcome lcsmom, glad you found us. Our DD is watching the Facebook thing as well and has been hoping more of the early 20's age group would identify themselves. I don't know enough about FB to know if they can start a subgroup or need to start their own but with the number of them in that age bracket, seems like it would really be nice for them to do some pre cruise introductions.

For us just 90 days to departing on our looong flight to VCE, but the 4 days in Venice will be well worth it

I actually saw this course recommended here on the boards, but I can't remember by whom. Sorry if it was someone here. It's an excellent course. I've listened to some of them multiple times. There's lectures on Athens, Heraklion, Knossos, Delos, Ephesus, etc, etc. Just be sure to buy it on sale, $60 to download, which it is now.

I also adore Rick Steves and should start watching the videos. http://www.ricksteves.com/europe/greece I loved taking his tour of Pompeii, although should have screened it a little more fully when we hit the 'working girl' section of the city. My daughter was horrified. (she's a teenager, I didn't think twice about it.)

Oh totally. It makes it a challenge to plan, and not unexpected with cruises, especially with ports that are not part of the routine itineraries. We should keep a close eye on them all. I've been on cruises where an itinerary has changed the night before, or that morning. it's so very different than a simple trip on land.

That said, ready for this? It's showing back at 6:45PM on my printed confirmation as of yesterday, but it's still 4:45PM online. I've got a note in to find out what's going on. I have printed confirmations confirming the 4:45PM time too.

Keep us posted as to what you find out. I was about to email our private tour operator to let them know about the change, but I guess it may be better to wait a bit to see what is going on. I hope we get those two hours back and don't have to rush back to the ship by 4:45pm!
