There could be two interpretations of your question.
If you are asking if you could buy now, and use points two months from now...maybe yes, probably no. That has nothing to do with room availability, but rather how long the process of becoming a member takes.
If you buy resale, you should plan on at least 8 weeks to be completely finished and fully able to use your membership. Some get in quicker, some take a lot longer.
If you buy direct from Disney, you may be able to make reservations pretty quickly, but they would have to fall after your closing. Buying direct, that closing depends on when your particular building is okay'd for occupancy...and that could be a couple of months.
If you are asking, "Will I be able to make short-notice reservations down the road -- next year, the year after " -- I tend to agree with Diane. Yes, if you are going at a non-peak time (and
DVC peaks are not necessarily the same as busy times for WDW), and you are happy with any resort, you'll probably be fine. If you
must have a BWV standard view studio during Food and Wine, you would probably be in trouble way before the seven-month window opened.
DVC, like most timeshares, works best for those who can plan farther out, but there is enough capacity that you will probably be able to get some
thing some
where a couple of months out during non-peak times.
