If we are at AK by 6:10 a.m. for a 7:00 a.m. EMH, how long until we are done with FOP and Navi? Will the line for Navi be manageable after FOP?

I'd like to get a FP+ for FOP and ride it twice. But if the line for Navi will be too long after waiting for FOP at rope drop, then we will do Navi first and ride FOP once with our FP+.

I've read that Safari might not be open right away on such an early morning? How will I know?

Thanks!

1. That is actually not extremely early on many AM EMH days.
2. I'd GUESS between 50-100 minutes.
3. It will certainly be far less a wait at any given time compared to FoP.
4. That's what we did in early Jan.
5. Correct.
6. Head to the Safari entrance and see. It's not far from the Pandora entrance.

We did the same thing on this past Memorial Day Saturday. We rope dropped FOP for EMH and then went on Navi with no problem afterwards. The line was less than 5 minutes.

As far as the Safaris go look at the WDW website just before you go on the Safari attraction webpage. You can enter the date and it will tell you the time that the Safaris open on an EMH day.

By the way: This was the exact procedure we used for our AK day. We also used FP for Everest and Dinosaur

6:10 is NOT too early for a 7 am EMH opening at AK. That's about right if you want to be in the front part of the pack. And unless driving - you can't control your arrival time. I rode the bus from my resort last time - and the FIRST bus arrived about 7:10 am for 8 am EMH (folks had been waiting since 6:30). Luckily - it was clear by the number of folks at the gates - not many folks on resort buses beat us.

The exact timing of all of this depends on when they start the walk of the herd to FOP - and when they load the first people on the ride.

My last trip - I was probably in the first 400 folks on FOP. I actually spent like 3 minutes in the gift shop, went to the restroom, and then went to Navi. Navi wasn't quite walk-on - I maybe stood about 10 minutes to get on it - plus some time doing the slow walk through the queue (so - it may have been 20 minutes from entering the queue). If I hadn't made those two pit stops before heading to Navi - I suspect I won't have had any stopped standing time in the queue.

But - from your 6:10 arrive - you should be done with both by between 7:10 - 7:50.

Now - if you arrive at 6:30 am - you'll still be pleased with the wait at FOP, but now everything takes longer - and I'm guessing the wait at Navi could be 30 minutes by the time you could get to it.

You really have to be in the front of the pack, IMO - or it's not worth it unless you really can't get a FP for FOP.

During March and June of 2018, we rode FoP during EMH. I love love love FoP. In March, we arrived by car 80 minutes prior 7 am opening. We rode FoP and went directly to Navi with no wait. Safari was not open. We headed to EE and rode it multiple times with no wait. Then headed to Dinosaur and Triceratops spin with no wait. Then, we headed to Safari. In June, I think we arrived maybe a bit later for an 8 EMH opening. After FoP, Navi was not open. We didn't know if it was a technical issue or if it was just not open yet. But we didn't wait to find out. Safari was not open either, so we headed to EE, then Dinoland as before. We breezed on all the rides. Arriving super early paid off for us. After riding FoP, there was NO ONE on the path to EE. It was great! We had FPs for FoP which was also great. We were able to get sooo much done in the morning, use the FoP FP, eat lunch, go back to the resort and nap, and then return in the evening. I was even able to refresh refresh refresh and found a 3rd FP for FoP during the summer. There was just two of us. Maybe I shouldn't have done that so someone else could have enjoyed the ride. But I am a FoP addict I guess.

Thanks everyone! I should have mentioned that this will be during Thanksgiving...so a very busy time. But I love early EMH...the earlier the better for me. My DH and DD13 will think that I am crazy making them wake up at 5:00 a.m. to get there by 6:00 a.m. But now that I know that it is worth it...they will be happy in the end! Thanks again!
