Our flight gets into MCO at 6pm on April 4th. We are hoping to be in bed by 10pm and up early to get to a park. What time do you think our luggage would arrive in our room at Pop?

Should we just pick it up ourselves?

Your luggage will magically appear in your room a few hours after you check in. Could be anywhere from an hour to several hours.

IMO, you should (always, when flying) pack immediate needs in carry-on luggage along with travel documents, valuables, and medications. The airlines misdirect over three million pieces of luggage per year.

Yes, we always do that. What I'm concerned about is will our luggage be delivered before we want to go to bed at 10pm? We cannot pack all of our toiletries in our carry-on luggage because of the new liquid restrictions and I want to make sure we'll have our "stuff" to get ready and out the door the next morning by 7am.

I'm also wondering how late will they deliver luggage? I'm just wondering if it's possible we won't have it by 10pm. We've never had DME transfer our luggage before (we always had a rental car).

If your flight arrives at 6, you should be at the resort by 7:30, at the latest. Your bags could arrive anytime from then until midnight. I imagine you are concerned about the possibility of being awoken after 10, by baggage delivery to the room. If you are planning on being in bed by 10, then I would ask bell services to not deliver the bags until the morning. But, I have heard others comlain that bell services still delivered their bags even though they were asked not to.
So....since you aren't in a huge hurry to get to the resort, I would plan on getting the bags yourself. It will add about 20 minutes to the time spent getting to the resort, but you can go to sleep knowing no one will be knocking at your door at midnight!!! Just don't put the yellow tags on the bags when you leave home.
