67 year old woman has twins- did you see this??

When im 67 the only babies I want are grandbabies

I had my twins at 27 and I don't know how I survived that first year. I can't imagine wanting to have babies at 67.

Women should not have babies at that age. There is a reason why nature takes care of that, and the fact that we have the technology to do it doesn't mean we should.

I agree that this is unethical. Unless the childrens' father is considerably younger (like half her age), then the kids could be left parentless before they're old enough to remember them.

I swore I never wanted kids in my 30's. I'm 32 now, and I am so done. I want to enjoy my kids. Having them a year apart at this age is all I can handle.

Any doctor who helped out with this should be put in jail.

What kind of Doctor would do this???? Totally unethical.

I guess I don't see this as an ethics issue at all. It isn't the dr's decision to make, it is the woman's/couple's decision, not that I agree with her having a child at that age, but that is her choice. Also, she could very well live to be 100 and be around for the upbringing of the kids, who knows? A 20 year old woman could die the day after having a baby and leave that child motherless too, you just never know.

I would never want a child at that age, but, I am not her either.

she doesn't mind so why should you guys flame her.She knew why she wanted to have the kids so it was her choice. Leave the lady alone.

I disagree with your reasoning. The couple could've decided til the cows came home but w/o intervention, at 67, it wouldn't have happened. Also, yes while possible that the woman could live to be 100 and the 20 yr old woman die after birth, odds for that are really out there. It seems the doctor had ulterior motives, like getting his 15 minutes of fame. Perhaps he should be the children's godparent and then take over if she dies.

I think it's irresponsible.

I would like to know more about this story. Such as, did she just act a surrogate (for her daughter maybe?) or are they actually going to be her children? My mom is 67, I can't see her going thru pregnancy at this time her her life. And she surely wouldnt want to deal with twin newborns!

I wondered that too- but there is no mention of it in the article.

I absolutely agree!

OMG - I cannot believe it! I'm 60 - I could never START a family now. How can she play with her kids when she's 70 or 75? This is weird.
