We're at DL right now.

I'd looked back over years of archives for this site about "big and tall" enjoyment of Disneyland, and I was surprised about how few people were plain unable to ride the attractions. I'm 6'7" and 360lbs. Maybe I'm just a bit more huge than some of the other "Pooh sized" people out there, but I've run into a few snags here and there.

The remodeled Space Mountain: can't fit at all. There's no way in the new bucket seats to get the bar down over my legs. I have to "scissor" them to fit, but then the bar won't come down. Pretty disappointing, and it meant the wife had to take the kids separately.

California Screamin': Riding with my 6yr old, I could put one leg on his side of the car, and tuck my right leg down, but unfortunately it ground my leg against the "Sandpaper" traction strip and I ended up tearing open my knee. It was worth it, it's an awesome ride, but I need a knee-pad or something, and the blood was messy.

Mulholland Madness: Couldn't fit at all. Had to exit.

Indiana Jones: I can fit for the most part, but again have to scissor the legs to get into the car. I love this ride too, but spend most of it trying to use my arms to keep my knees from bashing the dash and the accessory basket. Painful but fun.

Autotopia: A tight tight fit. Was painful when I had one of the kids with me, but driving solo, I could pack my legs all over the place and make it work.

Tomorrow Land Rockets: Could not manage to get into that one either. Kids had to ride with Mama.

I think everything else is okay. Some things I have to be careful where I sit, usually the back or front of various rides will have extra room. The Cast Members have always been accommodating with putting me wherever I request it.

If anyone has any suggestions/stories about this subject, feel free to chime in. I'm the only person of unusual size in my family, so sometimes it's tough to sit and wait for them to go on a ride. At least DL can still be fun. I had a heck of a time at Universal Studios. (although at least they had sample cars outside the rides to spare people waiting in line only to find out they couldn't fit).

The one thing I can say is Disney is more accomodating than other theme parks.
I am 6' and pooh sized. I am all legs. I HATE Space Mountain. i just can't fit. I did fine on Screamin' and also dont' have issues when we do Rock N Roller Coaster at WDW. There are rides I haven't even attempted because I don't want to have to leave the ride because I don't fit.
DH is 6'4" and a bit Pooh sized, but not as much as I am. He has short legs though so he doesn't have the issues I do.

I am so glad that you brought this up. I am also a big guy, 6'6" and 350 pounds. Were planning a trip to DL this fall and I was also worried about not fitting on some of the rides. Space mountain has always been a problem for me and ive also mastered the art of scissoring my legs. Did you have any problems with the restraints on screaming? Did they come down far enough or did they have to push them down?

I did fine with the shoulder restraints on Screamin' actually. Just had the issue with my right knee not having anywhere to go. It actually stuck out slightly on the right side of the car, but they said it wasn't a problem. If I hadn't been grinding on that sandpaper-like grip-strip, It would've been totally fine.

One more issue I thought of, when riding on Big Thunder Mtn. Railroad with the kids...the lap bar comes down on me and then stops, leaving a gap for the kids. The way gravity works in this ride, you usually don't have to worry about being weightless, but I still usually put my arm around the kids and hold tight.

LOL when I ride with my girls on BTMRR I hold onto them too....and I'm 5'4" and about 130 lbs..... :)

Sorry you tore your knee open, that sounds painful. :( DBF is 67'3" and has some of the issues you mentioned, that's why he almost always wears pants, just in case his legs are too long. He fits on Space Mtn tho. I hope the rest of your trip was fun.

MAN HE IS HUGE! haha :rotfl:

Sorry about your knee....

My DH is 6'7" tall and my father is 6'8" tall. Neither have ever had a problem riding any of the rides at DL. But both are around 240lbs so a bit smaller than yourself.

I'm 5'11" and slim and I have never had any problems either.

Although the Tomorrowland Rockets, lol, DH and I have squeezed into that one together, oh and Gagets Go Coaster, we both rode that one together once, I think we somehow both turned into pretzels to fit together.

67 feet and 3 inches? ZOMG! ;)

My husband is 6'7" also and hasn't had a problem on any ride except Mulholland Madness and the bumper cars over in Bugs Land. The first time on the bumper cars they almost didn't let him ride, but he convinced them and ended up fitting fine.

ROFL!!!! That's what I get for not proofreading....LOL He's 6' 3"....LOL

Interesting. I can't imagine where the knees go on Space Mountain. The bar is so narrow that you can't "scissor" your knees and still get the bar down.

When we are there next month I'll watch to see what they do with their legs, to be honest I have never actually looked but neither has ever complained of being uncomfortable.

I know what you're saying, I ride next to DBF on Space and he has to scissor to get his legs in and get the bar down.

My DH has the same problem. I think that Space Mountain is the only one he doesn't ride anymore. He is 6'6'' and his legs just don't fit. I am 6'1'' (all legs) and have found that the 2nd and 3rd seat of the Space Mountain cars seem to fit my legs better than the front. If I can avoid being in the front of the car I do.

My DH had the same issue on Space Mountain. He's only 6'4 but he's really leggy. They told us that rows 3 and 4 (I believe) are the ones with the most leg room. You should ask them next time - I do know it's not the rows that you would think!
