We're going the first week of Dec and I CAN'T WAIT, but the more info I get the more questions I have :) I see that cat 6 sleeps 3, sometimes 4--we've been assigned 6560 and have four in our fam. So what's the bed situation? Couch pullout, bunk, queen? There's two little kids who'd really rather not bunk together.

Also, should I worry about elevator noises? I'm such a light sleeper (unlike everyone else) that I'm resigned to Tylenol PM for the cruise, but Mr. FFerret has shown some concern about the main elevator right outside the door.

Hmmm, anything else I should know???

Thanks so much :) :) :)

Hi!
DCL won't book 4 in a room if it can't sleep 4. More than likely, you will have the two twins that convert to one large (queen?) bed. The sofa will convert to a twin, and there is probably a bed that comes from the ceiling, essentially making the couch and that bed a bunk. One of my kids used the bunk from the ceiling (can't remember what DCL calls it), and was very cozy. The only disadvantage may be that the bunk from the ceiling may not be put away every evening--ours was left set up but it didn't matter because we had connecting rooms AND didn't spend much time in them anyways! Our 3 boys had one room, and my DH and I had one--we used our couch area for anyone who was in the room long enough to sit (basically to tie shoes or change LOL).
Have fun!!

thanks so much, Sue :)
never done a cruise before but pretty sure we'll need plenty of downtime in the room

iI's a little disappointing to hear that it's not a real queen, but knowing that four's definitely provided for's a good thing! Guess I'll hit my travel agent at DU up for bed specifics. Are queen's always two twins, or is that in only some rooms?

I'm not sure, but I think most are twins that can be converted. Honestly though, DH and I were very comfy. We never felt like we were going to fall through the middle. I think they have some type of support that goes in the middle, and the sheets are queen sheets.

I'm a light sleeper too. I've stayed in 6564 on the starboard side of the same elevator lobby. Also stayed in 6632 down the hall aft. The hallway room (6632) was a little noisier because of the banging and clanking as people bumped against the hallway walls walking up and down the narrow hall. Voices also reverberate more in the hallways. For some reason, people tend to quiet down waiting for elevators (I guess they are conscious of what they are saying or don't want to be overheard.) The elevators are very quite at that deck.

Either room was quiet, enough for me (I guess I was so tired each night I could have slept through anything).

Our first cruise was in 6060--right across the hall from yours. We loved it! In fact, whenever we rebook now we try to get 6060. We've also been in the 6556 area (don't remember the exact room) and loved that too. Elevator noise is not a problem. Some unruly teens now and then are a bit loud, but we travel with a sleep machine so that helps. We love the convenience to the kids' clubs--simply drop down one level. It's also midway between the pools and the restaurants, so we took the stairs a LOT (helped offset the non-stop eating)

Have fun!

We had to cancel our 4/30 cruise b/c of my dh's glaucoma and eye surgeries (didn't want to be at sea and he have problems) so we'll be missing the fun...

Oh my. Just pulled out my old confirmation letter and we WOULD Have been sailing in 6560!!!!! (insert twilight zone music here!) See, told you we liked that area!!
