Have fun and I agree do some practice for dates in the couple weeks.

I'm at 61 days today as well! (AoA 8/1-8/9). I'm not as worried about reserving the fastpasses as much as I am worried about MDE/technology issues. It's always something; I've had to call twice about things not showing up or memory maker linked to a person who wasn't even on the account??!!, etc. Crossing my fingers for both of us!

Our 60 days is today, and our window opened right at 11:00 pm central time last night. It took me about 45 minutes but everything was available. The most time consuming thing was changing the times to work around ADR's. Good luck!

There is. Just make some FP+ reservations for sometime in the next 30 days.

Yes that's the way to do it.

I wish it would let me do this, because I've tried, and it doesn't. If I try and make a fastpass selection, it asks if I have a package or tickets, then I select a package and when I put the number in, it gives an error message that reservation number is already linked to an account. Which that message worried me, and I asked about it on the FP+ thread, and feel like I sort of got jumped on a little, but everyone is saying that won't happen on the night I am allowed to make FP+ selections. So, I guess my question is how are other people able to go in an tinker around in there and not get an error message like mine?

We are 60 days today and I was surprised last night at midnight with how much availability there was!! We went in January during a very slow time and at 60 days out the only day I could get A&E meet and greet was on our 7th day, same with Festival of Fantasy parade, both were wide open for our entire stay last night when I booked. In fact, I screwed up my Magic Kingdom day, then booked my other days, then realized my mistake and had to change everything around and everything was still available for my times on the day I had to change to.

We've only ever done Disney in the slower winter months and I just thought summer would be worse? Maybe the winter travelers are more of the Disney experts/planners and know the drill, and the summer travelers are more wing-it, don't know to book that early? I don't know, but I think you should be fine for whatever you need!

I think that it might be the case that because you have package tickets, you can't do anything with FP (even for within 30 days) until your 60 day window. If that's true, then there is no way to practice making FPs before your window opens (other than buying more tickets to link to your account).

There's really not much to it. Pick the rides you want, then go with the closest suggestion the system gives you. Tweak the times to your liking immediately after that.

I had a blast booking our FP+, and was a bit sad when I was done, even though it was close to 2:00 am and I had to work the next day :)

The poster assisting you in that thread was initially pointing you to the bolded portion in that OP that looked like to them (and me) that it addressed your issue. I interpreted your response as skeptical, since you were quoting the specific MDX error message and that it rightly didn't sound like the same issue. (I can't possibly take on every possible error message MDX may return. ;)) That poster has a lot of experience with this particular situation, has answered many variations of the same question many times, and I am very confident meant no ill will. :goodvibes

The difference in how package tickets and tickets bought separately is huge in that one allows "practicing" and one does not, and is why some have this ability to practice and others do not.

Everything I've seen indicates this is true.

We are 48 days out. When I booked at midnight at the 60 day point I got every single fast pass we wanted for all 7 days. I've tweaked quite a bit since then and still have been able to make things fall into place nicely. Hope it goes the same for you!

Thanks, Mesaboy, and I know you cannot address every possible error message, and I appreciate your FP+ thread, and so many of the other posts and help that you give on these boards. I do know that I sometimes do not communicate what I'm trying to say very well, especially when I don't know all the ins and outs like the pros around here do. I think I was frustrated because I felt like I couldn't express what my concern was, and I'm sure they felt frustrated, because I wasn't entirely understanding their explanation. I guess it's not so much that I was skeptical, but that I was more nervous, and still am, I suppose, that I'm going to sign on when my window opens at 60 days and I am still going to get that message. I'm an anxiety laden weenie. The meds only help a little. :crazy2:

No worries. We have seen this come up a lot since FP+ came to be and I don't recall one case where someone with a package wasn't able to book immediately as expected once the 60-day milestone was reached. It is undoubtedly a funky way Disney handles package tickets and FP+.

If it will ease your mind, contact Disney IT support with your questions and they may alleviate your concerns. (On the other hand, they may give bad advice that may make them worse.)

On our last trip MDX had just come out I had so many issues. There are four of us, my husband and I had tickets and were fine my children were listed in the room but they were missing tickets. It was really weird....:hyper2: but I called Disney IT and they fixed everything in a few minutes. I understand your worry, I would be too. I would call IT and just double check so you have no issues when you sign in at midnight. Have them double check everything, make sure everyone is listed and their tickets are all set. I would do it for piece of mind.

I just got out of the shower, and as I was in there, I was thinking this exact thing! :lmao:

I think part of my paranoia is that I would swear I was able to go in and poke around last year before my 60 day window opened, and I booked the same way last year as this year. Lord knows though, that my memory can be faulty on occasion.
