Addition-Elle has bathing suits for $100! YIKES! Still looking!

If I don't find one....I'll be the nude swimming at CBR in March....heeheehee. S

Where have you tried so far, Sandra? I guess the CBR gift shop or Downtown Disney had better have something for you or you'll have 2 unhappy kids (at least DH won't mind)! Good luck!

Every swimsuit I have ever bought came from landsend.com. I love the fit, quality, and styles. A good swimsuit is not cheap but even with exchange you will be hard pressed to pay that there. P.s they use to have an overstock link but the last time I was there it was gone but they might have it back. That is where they put everything on clearance from the site.hth:thumbsup2

have you tried Sears.ca? I always have trouble finding my size 6 as it's a popular size where I live. But they always have my size at Sears. Some of the labels they sell at Sears is the same as what is sold at Swimco here.

Addition Elle always seems to think that because people are bigger that we will pay a arm and a leg for clothes. Try Penningtons, they are owned by the same company and have a bit less of a price point.
I totally hear you about the bathing suit. We leave in 28 days and I have the one from before my son was born that doesnt fit the same.. Things moved! Argh.. Im going to the states on Monday, hopefully Target has something

I seem to buy a lot of suits. A friend of mine leaving for Jamacia on Monday told me they have some mix and match pieces at Walmart very reasonably priced. They are also great for both of our sizes. You can mix and match tops and bottoms. We both bought them last season too. When I went to her house to go for a hot tub, we both came out wearing the same suit. Very funny!! I love the skirtini, and halter top. This combo was flatering on both of us. A size 6 and 12. I was surprised to find such a flatering suit at Walmart of all places. I usually buy from Sears catalogue.

I found out about an amazing brand of bathing suits in the summer. It is called Fantasizer, and it comes in plus sizes as well (I am plus sized) and it does amazing things for a woman's body! They had them in Sauble Beach, but I haven't looked for them around here. They are on the pricier end of the scale, but I think if you like how it looks and take care of it, it will last a long time! I have heard that Sears has them (I haven't checked this out myself) and probably the bathing suit only type stores might. You may want to search online if you are interested, and you could call around. Also, the sales people in the bathing suit only stores are very knowledgeable about what looks good on different body types, and can be a great resource. Because I can't think of anything more trying than buying a new bathing suit (for me, anyway)!

Hi Sandra,

I just got a new Sears catalogue (not the big summer catalogue, just a small 50 pager). It's called New You 2007, and shows a mother/daughter in exercise gear on the front. Anyway, there are some nice swim suits in there. Actually the one that caught my eye is on page 11, but it is $89.99, so more than I want to spend too. I really hate the suit I bought in Florida last year so I might take the plunge (pun intended ;) )

Sandra

Not sure where you live but try Bikini Bay....they carry plus sizes and the prices range from $29.99 and up.

A little off topic. But has anyone had their bathing suits wrecked on the slides at the water parks? I have one bathing suit that expensive but also looks good on me and one average suit. I don't want the expensive one ruined the first day at the water parks. Hey....good looking suits on a middle aged woman are hard to come by.:rotfl:

We have a shop here in the Brampton Shopper's World call Bikini Bay and they have a huge selection of bathing suits for all sizes.
Good luck Sandra. I HATE bathing suit shopping.........:scared1:

Try Walmart! I was there last night and noticed that they have brought out quite a few now!

Good Luck!

The best bathing suit I have bought in years has been from landsend.com
It did cost a bit more but if it fits and you are comfortable then it is worth it.

CaroleD, I have never had a problem with anything at the water park wrecking my bathing suit, however I have been told that when swimming in anything but fresh water, thoroughly rinse the suit as soon as you take it off as chlorine or salt water will destroy it over time.

Sandra, hit Wal-mart. I got my suit there last year at this time, two piece, long tank top, with a skirted bottom, two pieces matched, and the top landed right at the waist band of the bottom, no belly showing but easy on and off. I love it and actually felt comfortable at Castaway cay in just that. Spent several hours playing in the water with the kids on my cruise, had a blast.

Another supporter of sears.ca for plus size swim suits.

I got mine there about 7-8 years ago and it is still in very good shape. It did cost around $70 at that time but the quality is amazing.

It is a one piece (god, I can't imagine me in a two piece!) and has a little swim skirt attached. I got a purple one and got my mom a blue one. It is modest and comfortable.

Last spring I found a Christina suit I loved for a great price at winners. So I went to all the winners near me and now I have three of them. When I went to the Great Wolf Lodge with my family over the Christmas Break there were two other ladies wearing them. Guess I wasn't the only one who liked them.

They have a bunch at Costco now too. I saw a cute one with a tankini top and little black nylon shorts that had a bathing suit bottom attached inside.

Hi Sandra. Try The Bay -- the brand name I have bought in the past and loved was "It Figures". And you can mix/match the tops/bottoms. I have the bottoms that have the attached little short, and I love them ... I like having the tops of my thighs covered at all times. ;)

I can never get the ones at Wal-Mart to fit just right -- this company seems to know to add a little more room to the bottom, so you don't end up having to go up another size which makes the waist too big.

I personally HATE bathing suit shopping.:scared1:
