That's shorts weather for me. You should be fine in either capris or jeans.

We're from Chicago and I wear shorts, my wife and girls wear capris or jeans depending on what the low will be for the night. During the day it isn't bad unless it's very windy, but at night they say they're exposed legs are cold if it gets into the 40's. Depends on how well you tolerate the wind, being from Minnesota you shouldn't have a problem. LOL

Keep in mind that official temperatures are measured in the shade. The sun in Florida (even in winter) may be a little more direct than you are used to in Minnesota.

So if the forecast is mid-70's and sunny, you are probably going to want to wear shorts. If it is 70's and cloudy and windy, or if temperatures in the 60's, you might want to go with longer pants.

Of course, everyone is different.

WHen are you going to be there? We leave on Friday and I have started packing - I have a little bit of everything- pants, long sleeves, short sleeves, capris, hats, mittens, and a coat.
I have a pair of shorts packed for DS, because he is DYING to wear shorts. After the cold temps we had last week 60's will feel like a heat wave!!

Its is the most random suitcase I have every packed.

If you are leaving on Friday, who knows we may be on the same flight!

We leave Friday too! I haven't put anything into suitcases yet, but our guest bed is covered with pants, capris, shorts, t-shirts, sweatshirts, gloves, etc. Still trying to decide if I want to bring our coats, since Saturday is going to be so cool!

I have started laying stuff out in the suitcase and started piling stuff, but I wouldn't say that I have officially packed. I'm still watching the weather to see if it changes.

I have lightweight coats for us that will go in the suitcase- they are super thin and pack well, and then we will where our winter gear to the airport. Plus we have sweatshirts that will go on the plane with us, because they are too bulky for the suitcase and are nice to have on the plane for when it gets cold.

Ah! So much to pack!

The extended forecast for our trip (Jan. 21 thru 30) is showing temperatures as low as the THIRTIES and FORTIES during the day, some days . . . depending on which weather forecast you look at . . . with afternoon temps "spiking" (HA HA HA) in the FIFTIES for some of the trip. Bwwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh! It's our first trip to Disney, and the whole point has been to get our little boy into the sunshine -- he's four, and has been wearing a torso cast for two years, and we just want some SUN and SWIMMING for the kid. I'm tantruming in the general direction of Mother Nature right now.

We were at MK yesterday in the 60's. DH wore shorts and his legs were fine, but he wished he had a long sleeved shirt over his T shirt. I would have been cold in shorts but was fine in jeans - but I also wished I had long sleeves. (we went on the spur of the moment - otherwise we would have had long sleeves with us...)

As a southerner, I can give you a bit of insight on this.

In sunshine, it'll be comfortable. Perfect, even.

In the shade, if there's a breeze, it may be a tad bit chilly, but not ridiculously so.

However, at night be prepared for it to be a bit colder than during the daytime.

Another thing to remember is that walking around will warm you up significantly, so what you think of as 65 or so will probably be quite comfortable when you're moving about.

I live near Chicago, so yes I know cold! And, maybe I'm a wimp, but some of those temps seem very chilly to cold, especially in the shade, at night, or if windy! Fifty degrees in Disney is not like fifty degrees here. First of all, we don't spend all day outside usually. And it seems whenever I've been to Disney in the chillier and cold temps, it's always been windy and rather biting. It's often been, in my experience, a bit damp there then it was cold, which makes the temps seem a even colder. Idk, but my DD23 and I have been in Disney when it's had lower temps(even record breaking), and it just felt colder than if we were in the same temps at home near Chicago. Lol, maybe we are just wimps. Anyway, just my opinions! I'd definitely bring jeans with my capris or shorts, and long sleeves and a hoodie, as well as a jacket or coat, and gloves and scarf. That way I'd be prepared in case temps dip real low!

In the 70s you could DEFINITELY wear capris..if it were in the 60s...I'd probably stick to jeans...however if its super sunny, capris might be just fine

We were in Disney for a Feb. 2010 trip and it only hit 70 degrees one day. The rest of the days were in the 50's and I was wearing my winter coat (we are from Pittsburgh) because of the wind. I will just tell you we still had an amazing time and the only day it hit 70, my kids did swim. Just pack layers! Kids luckily, don't seem to be as affected as us grownup's by the cold

Capris will probably be fine. Just make sure you layer your tops.

This is probably the best advice as it could get quite cool when windy or in shade but warm in direct sunlight.

We leave on the 23rd. Thanks for all the advice. good thing our bags are flying free thru sw, they are going to be heavy. I think I will stick to capris and jeans, I am a cold person, so shorts maybe to chilly for me.

I could have written this same post, word for word, because I am also from Chicago, have been in Disney when the lows were in the 30's and the highs in the 60's, and we froze, even with our winter coats on. WDW doesn't have central heat, insulated buildings, and buffer zones in buildings to keep the cold wind out like we do in the northern climates. I had never been so happy to return to Chicago after a really cold week at WDW in January of 2009 when it seemed like we could never get warm. Now we are going in just 8 days and I know that I will bring plenty of warm clothes if the predictions are for cold weather again. I wouldn't wear shorts when it is in the 60's at home, so I wouldn't wear them in Florida, either.

Just remember to make note of the day's lows as well as highs. Forecasts seem to focus on the day's high which will only be a small part of your day. If you're going to be out and about anytime other than that time of day, you have to pay attention to the day's low, or plan to spend money on all the gloves, blankets, hats, coats, and sweatshirts the theme parks love to sell.
