Hey to everyone.:hippie:
We are booked at POP in March. We have been there before and it is "fine".
This time we are travelling with brothers family of 4 and my parents and neither have been to disney before.
We stayed at CBR in January and LOVED it..:love: ...swore we would always go moderate again.
I checked to see what the upgrade to moderate is from Pop and it is 60.00 per night.....total of 420.00 for 7 nights .....
Seems like a good deal to me.....
I have emailed brother and said it is 60 per night....benefits of room size, bus stops, fridge coffee maker and onsite restaurant as well as cs....all good things I think.
Help me sell this upgrade!!!popcorn::

If you can afford it, do it! :goodvibes Perhaps going to the main WDW website and looking at the video of the resort and the amentities lists will help? Good luck!

I stayed in Values once, and swore I would never do it again. They are noisy, buses are crowded, beds are hard, I need a good bed. I use to say, "we are never in the room", what does it matter? Well, I have to get a good nights sleep. My bed was like a rock! We were so excited to stay at All Star Movies too! Never again. The coffee pot will save you $10.00 a day or more. Hope this helps, You will use the fridge a lot!!

Just remember the pool at CBR is closing for a while....check the dates if the pool is important to you.

This is exactly what I am worried about! We stayed at Saratoga Springs in 2007. In order to go back in 2008, we had to choose a stay at a value (or just not go). My husband is a light sleeper and has back trouble. We will be at Pop, have you heard if it is a better choice as far as values go or equal?

We have stayed at all: deluxe, moderate and value. While I like paying the value price, and staying at the value resort is fun for all of us, we prefer the moderate. (heck, I would prefer the deluxe but the budget just won't allow it .... yet :rolleyes: ) We were lucky enough to grab the bounce back deal this year and we are able to pay the difference in the mod. and value. Yes, the value isn't quite as nice as the moderate but it has always served our family well. That being said I do enjoy having a little "luxury" on our vacations (we are not park commandos) so the upgrade is well worth it to us. besides that the beds are nicer...... :rolleyes1

All Star Music was just refurbished. They have new pillowtop matresses.(Made by the same manufacturer as the deluxe resorts I was told)

All Star Music just underwent a refurbishment of all of the rooms and was completed in June 2007.

Here is a website with photos of the newly refurbished rooms at All Star Music.

Look at the Jazz Inn section with new posted:

All Star Music is my favorite Disney owned hotel.

Please see my info thread for more reasons why I enjoy All Star Music so much.

I am so glad to hear they have replaced the mattresses. :goodvibes

Tell him there'll be more amenities there - more food choices and a more relaxing atmosphere.

I too would check the status of the pool though. I wouldn't want to visit a resort where the pool was closed.

DON'T FORGET THE HEATED POOLS.

Values do not have heated pools - all other resorts do. I know its Florida but it can still get chilly at night making the water too cool for comfort.

This is reason #1 why we stay at mods and up now.

Sorry , you are mistaken . The value pools are heated.
I have gone swimimming in the heated pool at All Star Music in the late fall and the water was about 84 or 86 degrees.
I have a large inground heated pool at home so I know about what temp a pool is when I go in swimming.

The pools (which are all heated) are open from 8:00am to midnight, with lifeguards on duty from 10:00am to 10:00pm. Quiet hours are 10:00pm to midnight.

Almost right...the MAIN pool is closing, but each of the 8 quiet pools remain open and slides are being added to two of them. Thus pool fun can still be had by all! Those are still nicer than a no slide pool at Pop.

You've been there done that, just tell your brother, this is what we are doing and this is what it cost. If you have to push it a bit, use his wife and your Mom and on your side. You know guys will eventually cave with 3D nagging :3dglasses. CBR will be much quieter, your parents will have a place to stroll and the pools will be less chaotic. The fridge, double sink, privacy curtain and extra room will be important with his family of 4.

If the CBR pool is closed when you're due to go;check out the price difference for POFQ/POR . We are due to stay there for the 1st time this dec. and I have read nothing but wonderful things! This will be our 1st stay not in a deluxe;but hey I get to go back!! Hopefully We will enjoy this mod stay as much as a deluxe stay. Good luck!

We had previously booked a stay at Pop Century because of the money. We later decided to switch to the CBR. The deciding factors were....

1) Full service restaurant;
2) Lots of quiet pools;
3) Bigger rooms;
4) Refrigerator with no charge;
5) Coffee maker;
6) Tropical theming of the resort so we feel as if we get a beach vacation
as well as a Disney vacation;
7) Marina
8) Covered bus stops
9) Central location.

My selling points are the same as your's.
