Hi all - wondering if anyone can recommend a special event on the cruise I can organize in advance for my daughters 6th birthday. I see there are some character breakfasts on board but wanted to know if there was anything else I might be able to look into that is a little more private/VIP. thanks

The Royal Tea wouldn't be private, but the price tag says VIP...

We ordered cabin birthday decorations for my son when he turned 8. Also, our cabin steward made an incredible towel birthday cake the night of his birthday. I think just being on the cruise was enough for my son.

Note that character breakfasts are not offered on all cruises and when offered will not be an option each day. As PP mentions, BBB would be a good option and you can plan that for any given day (note that Pirate Night I think BBB does only pirate league makeovers). Royal Tea will be on a set day, but it is a very special thing to do. Maybe allow her to pick the excursion for that day (if it's a port day). You can order a birthday cake and it will be delivered at dinner. What did you have in mind as "more private?"

If you really want private and VIP, I believe you can arrange for a private meet & greet, but that is going to cost big bucks (maybe ~$1K). I don't know that there is much in the way of special events or private activities you can plan/book. I would just plan to spend time with her doing the things she chooses that day.

Enjoy your cruise!

For our son's birthday, we gave a birthday card to guest services and they had all the characters sign it. It gets delivered to the room on the last day, which worked out for us since that was his birthday.

Unfortunately, the Guest Services desk no longer takes drop-off items to be autographed. Whether they would do it for a birthday card, I can't say for sure, but I wouldn't expect so. Guests are welcome to take such items around to the various meet & greets and obtain autographs in that manner. It would be cute to get a card signed throughout the cruise.

Enjoy your cruise!
