If you were going to be in the world for 6 nights, would you consider splitting your stay?

We will be :bride: HONEYMOONING :groom: and quite honestly we are having a very hard time coming to a final decision as to what resort we want to stay at!

Either... a standard view at the Yacht Club or a savannah view at the Animal Kingdom Lodge

SO.. we have been throwing around the idea of splitting our stay down to 3 nights at each.

Only problem is that I love having that 'home' feeling after being at a resort for a while.. I'm afraid that by only staying at one of the resorts for 3 nights that 'home' feeling will just not come! :worried: Or, I'll love the first resort so much that I won't want to leave.. or we'll get to the second resort and we just won't enjoy it as much as the other!

UGH! I just don't know what to do! HELP!!

That is a tough decision. I just extended our trip from 4 to 6 nights and am also wondering if we should split our stay. I have been to both of those resorts and they are both great. I would split your stay if you don't mind re-packing. Make sure you have time to spend at each one, though (especially the pools). If you only stay at one, I would choose the YC because the rooms are bigger and you may feel cramped after a few days at AKL.

I voted for splitting your stay. I actually love doing this, as you get to experience the theming/perks/ambience of two different resorts. Plus, it's nice to have different locations as well (be closer to AK at AKL and Epcot/MGM at YC). We actually split our honeymoon stay between the GF and BWI, and it worked out nicely. Of course, if you think that you won't be as happy splitting your stay, then you really can't go wrong with the YC or the AKL (they are 2 of my favorite resorts).

We have never split a stay, but we have 3 kids, so packing up and moving would be much harder. In your situation, I would try both resorts, they both have so much to offer.

We frequently resort hop, but we stay 9 nights! We usually stay at one deluxe resort 4 nights then move over to a 1- bedroom at our DVC resort for 5 nights. For 3 nights at each location, I would not want to mess with packing up and getting re-settled at another resort! I voted for staying the entire time at AKL. It is a beautiful, warm resort. And, Jiko would be an excellent place for you to dine. I personally feel YC atmosphere to be very cold and formal, though I do love the location! We prefer BC and stay at BCV frequently. Either way, I am sure you will have a wonderful trip! You really can't go wrong with any Disney resort!:bounce:

While I also love to split my longer stays at WDW I don't think I would on my Honeymoon. I would go with the YC you will love it.

I voted for the YC the entire time because of what you said about enjoying that "home" feeling once you've settled into a resort. I'm the same way, and that's why I don't think I'd enjoy switching resorts. And I agree with what you said about being disappointed with the second resort (no matter how nice it is) because you miss the first resort. For some people, I know that part of the fun is switching resorts. But I'm not that kind of person, and it doesn't sound like you are either. :D

I had a harder time choosing between YC and AKL. I've read trip reports from people who've stayed at AKL for their honeymoon, and it sounded very romantic, especially with a savannah view room. But I decided to vote for YC in the end because it's a beautiful, quiet resort and I think the Boardwalk has a lot of fun activities in the evenings for honeymooners. You really can't go wrong, whether you choose YC or AKL. I wouldn't split the stay though.

That is so sweet i will be honeymooning there also except i am honeymooning before the wedding, wedding on NEw Years Eve. So we are doing the vacation honeymoon first.
Congrats

First of all, Congrats!!!! be sure to grab a pair of those bride and groom hats!:earsgirl: :earsboy:

We just split our time between Wilderness and Poly. We loved resort hoping and had no problems.

Have fun!!!!!!!!!!

I love resort hopping as well, but I agree that on a honeymoon I'd stay at one place. My vote is for the Yacht Club. We stayed there for our honeymoon. Our travel agent "talked us into it". We were going to go with a moderate, but she really encouraged us to go with the YC. And I'm SOOOOOOO glad she did. The YC was perfect . Stormalong bay was wonderful and everything was so convenient.

Now the YC feels like "home" to us. We've stayed at the CR & WL(which is another great choice btw- but for a Disneymoon I'd vote YC) but when the boat pulls up to the dock at the YC, we sigh because that is our "home".

Id say the YC. Imagine moonlit evenings walking around the lake, perhaps watching illuminations in Epcot then strolling back to your room. Take a romantic dinner at the yachtsman steakhouse or take time out to use the swing chairs on the beach.
Have a great time.

I voted stay at YC. Since you like that home feeling and it is your honeymoon, you don't want to be moving. Now I like to resort hop, but only on longer trips than that. And, I always end the trip at a resort I know I like when we switch.

The first time we split stays, we tried the BWI first and fell so in love with it that we were so disappointed when we switched to the GF. We really need to give the GF another chance, because the rest of that trip we were longing to be at the Boardwalk. So I would not want that to happen to you, especially on your honeymoon!

I voted for split stay for this reason... if you are not sure when you will be returning to the "World" then you will be able to enjoy
2 different "flavors" of the magic....

My husband and I are going for a split stay in June - 3 at WL and 3 at YC... celebrating our 5th anniv.

We stayed at Dixie Landings for our honeymoon. Since have been to Poly, CB. PO (both Riverside and French) and the AKL.

So what ever you choose remember... its who you are with that really counts!!!!

Congrats!!!
