6 month old which resort?

OK, this is our first trip with our new baby. He'll be around 6 months,we are thinking November, but not thanksgiving week.

We have current ressies at AKV kidani and now we are starting to rethink it.

I think the pluses would be when the little one is napping we have a Savannah view we could just enjoy the animals.

However we were thinking about all the bus time involved. So now we are thinking it might be better to try to get in over at BWV or BC? We have stayed there many times and love the convenience of walking to 2 parks.

Then of course BLT is floating in my head because well you can walk to MK. So, is BLT noisy at all. Reason I'm asking is we have stayed at CR 1 time and we were on a low floor and it was noisy. I could hear the busses outside, plus the monorail inside the building. So, do you hear street noise at BLT if your on a low floor? I'm not sure if how the resort is set up you would or not make things noisy.

See the funny thing is AKV kidani is one of our home resorts, actually our first but we have never stayed there. At first we had a couple years of health issues and kept having to move the trips last minute so we were at SSR, but with the economy being sucky lately we have been able to switch over to BWV pretty easily for our trips since we love the epcot area.. I'm just thinking we are going to feel trapped, even though we have stayed at jambo house pre dvc and loved it.

Hi,
I purchased at the BLT because of transportation concerns. My mom comes with us every time we visit Disney and has to use an electric scooter. We find it much more convenient to be able to take the monorail to two of the parks than to get her on a crowded bus. We don't always make it to Animal Kingdom, so for us, only having to take the bus to one HS is a plus. Also, if your baby needs to go back in the middle of the day, the monorails are much quicker and quieter than the buses in my opinion. As far as noise level, we have stayed at BLT about 4 times already and never once had any noise issues. As a matter of fact, I think it is very quiet. There is always a possiblility of someone running loudly and/or screaming in the halls, but that could be anywhere. Well, I hope this helped answer your question. Good luck and have fun.

We have stayed at both BLT and CR before and I understand what you're saying about CR being kind of noisy. But I think this is because of the design of it. The open atrium and all the noise from Chef Mickey's, the monorail.. etc.
But BLT is not like that at all. It's set up like most larger hotels, with interior corridors and room on both sides. We were on the 7th floor with a pool view and noise was not an issue for us at all. We even had some sort of construction going on in the room right next to ours during the day, never heard a thing even though we came back for nap time for our 13 month old everyday.

As far as which hotel is better for such a LO, I would go with whichever is closest to your favorite park. I'm assuming that you'll be bringing (or renting) one of the larger strollers so baby is comfy, and getting those on and off the buses can be a little difficult. Especially if baby is sleeping someone will have to pick him up and hold him during the bus ride. But if you're at BLT,BC or BW you can walk to at least one of the parks and take the monorail to Epcot/MK.

Six months is so easy. You strap them onto your chest and go (if you can stand a carrier or sling). I don't think it makes too much difference at that age if you just have one and two adults. One holds baby and one folds stroller. And MOST, not all, six month olds will nap when they get tired on a dime. Noise or no noise.

(I'm assuming your baby is currently very little since you are talking about switching. Do yourself a favor and make noise when he is napping. MOST babies will sleep through noise - but if you teach them it needs to be quiet while they sleep, you'll have a much harder battle with stroller naps at WDW at four - not to mention when they are two if there is a new crying baby in the house. Mine were never good nappers.).

I love the monorail with a stroller because you can leave the baby in the stroller so if the baby falls asleep you can get all the way back to your room without disturbing the baby.

In another year or so (when the child can be entertained by the animals on savanna view, instead of being bored in a room) AKV would be an absolutely amazing experience.

Right now, if you will have a stroller, I would not fault you for switching to a resort (BWV, BCV, BLT) where you can get to some parks via boat or monorail, because those methods of transportation are easier when you do not have to fold up the stroller.

I think any resort would be fine with a six month old, but the nice thing about BLT is that you have the monorail and can usually leave your stroller open instead of having to close it every time you take the bus.

can i tell you why i LOVED OKW when my kids were infants??? The laundry room was HUGE so i'd put the pack in play in the laundry room and make that his room!!

bu really any resort will be good! most have zero entry pool areas so he can sit there and splash.

Similar thought to PP. I always loved BWV when we were using the pack and play because the closet in the 1 bedroom was large enough to accommodate the pack and play. It worked great for our family.

I suggust you stay at BWV or BCV. Since you will have a stroller it will be easier to get to 2 parks without busses. Also your little one will sleep A LOT which means you can tuck the baby in the stroller at night and enjoy EPCOT. At 6 months the trip is really about your enjoyment, not the Baby's preference.

Similar thought to PP. I always loved BWV when we were using the pack and play because the closet in the 1 bedroom was large enough to accommodate the pack and play. It worked great for our family.

That's exactly what we did with our baby. He is 5 years old now and the last time we stayed at BWV I showed him the closet and said, 'This was your room when you were a baby.' I remember looking at all the floor plans of the different resorts trying to decide where to put the baby for naps and bedtime. We had a great trip at BWV when he was a baby. We walked to Epcot, DHS, and would walk through Epcot and take the monorail to the MK.

We were able to get garden pool view at bwv. It's our favorite place to stay.
Goofy on the ressie format 1 day PTs , 1 day cash , rest pts. Plus a wait list for the cash night.

My dh now has the vision of other trips on the bus where he sees mom carry the child on board and the dad lugs the bags plus stroller. Lol

I agree with this. We went in November and that was the reason we switched from our home resort to BLT, and it was great! Ours are little (3 and 6) so it was nice to be able to walk to MK since that is where we spent most of our time. And good for Epcot too since that is our 2nd fave.

No noise like at CR, either. We were on a lower floor facing the pool courtyard and we couldn't hear anything from ourside.
