Our baby will be 6 mo. old when we're at WDW. We would typically inflate a baby swim raft thing...I can't remember what they're called...for him in the pool. This trip we're flying and won't be able to blow it up anywhere. Any ideas as to what we can use with him in the pool?
We will be flying, so we won't have tons of room for anything. TIA!

Our ymca uses belts with foam floaties on them for all the kids, even the babies can use them. I bought one from them and we put it on DD, she is now 4 and we still use it in pools. It does take up some room though.

I never used anything with my oldest when she was a baby, although when we went to the lake (often) she wore a life vest in the pool. My 6 month old went in the pool 2 weeks ago for the first time and I just held her. When we take her into the lake she will wear a life jacket as well. I never liked to put DD5 into anything not coast guard approved until she was 2 or so, and then only when I was within a foot of her.

My 6 month old will be 10 months when we go to WDW and I am not planning on taking anything for her to use in the pool...I will hold her like I do in her swim class.

It's regular size, but I can't ever seem to get it even half way blown up! :confused3
I guess we'll just hold him up in the water. Such a simple solution. :goodvibes

If you use a sling you can get a solarveil or solarweave ring sling or pouch..pop the baby is and be hands free!!

Holding is fine. Do the pools even allow floating help? Our parent/tot swim classes at our Park District do not allow us to bring anything. It helps if there is another adult. It will "double" your pool time. Our baby loves the water because we started so early.

Another vote for a solarveil sling. We *LOVE* ours, and it was a godsend on DD's two trips to DW so far (she's 11 mo.) A sling is also invaluable for getting in and out of ride cars with a baby; it frees your hands and steadies the child.

I had both kids in the pool by 6 mos and I hold them 99% of the time, including WDW. They are able to lay on their belly and back, kick their feet and learn to close their mouth so they don't swallow the water.

Thanks everyone! We leave tomorrow, so I'm going to run by Target and see if they have anything like what has been mentioned above. If not, we'll just hold him the whole time. We'll play man on man coverage. One with the 2 1/2 year old and one with the 6 mo. old...I may need a vacation after this vacation. :rotfl: We're so excited though!!! WDW here we come!:cool1:
