I won a family vacation to Universal Studios for our family. It's for a family of 4 and we have 6 in our family. We're more than happy to pay for the extra tickets to get into the park. The hotel they're booking us into for the win is the RPR. Because the win is for a family of 4, we're only entitled to one room. Does anyone know if we are allowed to have 6 in the room (4 are children) or will we have to pay for another room? And if so, how do I go about getting a great rate for next August? Book very far in advance, or closer to the time?

Thanks so much! We're all so excited!!:Pinkbounc

Please disregard. I called and found out the answer to this question. Thanks!!

Melinda, if you don't mind what did they tell you about 6 in a room? I'm asking b-cuz I don't think they limit you if it's children. If I'm wrong please let me know. Thanks

Bedding - 1 king or 2 queen beds
Occupancy: 4 adults, 4 children, *5 total combined
*The 5th person in the room must have a rollaway. The additional charge is payable to the hotel directly.
Maximum of 4 children through the age of of 17 stay free in existing bedding with 1 adult.

Although this is the info found consistently for these hotels I have read a few posters have 5 in a room and not get the roll away. Maybe depends on who is checking you in? or maybe with small children they figure 3 can fit in a queen bed. I do know 5 is max in any case unless you get a 2 bedroom suite.

They told me no, that we cannot have 6 in a room. 5, with a cot, yes, but not 6. I might have risked it except we want the FOTL access for us all!LOL;)

No room for six people in those rooms...I would book another room, or leave the youngest two at home.

Have fun!

We're either going to hope to get a 2nd room for the entertainment book price, or they are looking into possibly giving us a second room for free since we aren't using the 4 airline tickets that we won, so they are saving a bundle off the package we won. My youngest two will be 11 and 13, so I don't think I can leave them home without a fit being thrown!!LOL

Melinda......... I was thinking the same thing.......... my 3 year old would throw a fit too!!! ;)

No, 11 and 13 yo's would notice that they were being left behind.

Even if they would let you put 6 in a room it would be a very tight fit. We got two rooms for our April trip (6 in our family) and then invited my sister and BIL to stay with us. Even with 4 in each room it was tight and we've stayed 6 in a Polynesian WDW room (when my youngest was a year old) so don't mind cramming in to save some money. We got a good entertainment rate so it shouldn't cost too much. Hopefully you'll get the second room free and it won't be an issue.
