6 Flags Darien Lake - Crowds

Anyone familiar with 6 Flags Darien Lake? DD has a season pass to 6 Flags NE and we'll be passing thru upper NY state in a few weeks and I was thinking we might bop into Darien Lake for a Saturday afternoon. It that worth it or are the crowds so bad on a Saturday that it would be more frustrating than fun?

It's not that bad. The crowds at DL are heavier on weekends, but not unmanageable. They have enough there that the crowds tend to get split up nicely. If it's warm tell her to bring her bathing suit, the water park is really good.

I was there yesterday (Sunday) with my son and was pleasantly surprised that the crowd was so low.

I figured it was because it was the first real hot day we have had, and that it was the beginning of June.

The waterpark areas were the busiest, but we were able to walk on any ride or only a small wait time.

Just check the concert schedule beforehand. Some days will generate a bigger crowd than others. Most concerts will clear out the park around 6 - 7 PM, but could cause a traffic jam at closing, espically if there is a laser show/fireworks. Also, there are a few special events like Kingdom Bound that greatly increase the park traffic. Other than that, its your normal waits like 45 - 60 minutes for Superman, 30 - 45 for Mind Eraser, with the others at 10-15 minutes each

Hope you have a good time in our little neck of the woods (and believe me, Darien Lake really IS in the woods - or the country, anyway).
