This is my first attempt at a dining review, and with two children under 5 at the table, there are no food photos. However, I hope to give an honest opinion of the meals we ate at Disney.
Here is our cast:
Me: Known as Minnie for this trip.
Hubby: Known as Pluto for this trip.
DS4: Known as Stitch for this trip.
DS1: Known as Pooh for this trip.
We started our trip with a night in Atlanta, GA. We ate at a conference for supper, and of course had to get some Brewster's Ice Cream on the way back to the motel. Saturday, we left early. Breakfast was McDonad's. I had a chicken biscuit and hashbrowns. Stitch had the big breakfast. Stitch ate some of Pluto's pancakes and sausage. Pooh ate my hashbrowns and drank chocolate milk. Lunch came in Florida at a Denny's Diner. I had a nacho plate. It was greasy and only fair. Pluto had an egg sandwich with hashbrowns. Stitch and Pooh had kids' pizzas with french fries. Denny's was not very good, and we rated this a 4 out of 10. It was expensive too. Our service was great, and that was really the only good thing about it.
Supper was at a local Orlando place called Nacho's Grill. It was awesome! It is a Cuban/Mexican restaurant. I had the taco plate with black beans and rice which I shared with Pooh. Pluto had a Cuban dish that was fantastic! Every bite of it was delicious! Stitch had a cheese quesadilla plate which included rice. He ate all of it. The food here was unbelievable. The prices were a bit high, but service was unbeatable. We all gave this place a 10! We will be back.
Disney restaurants:
Pinnochio's Village Haus: Lunch We ate here at 11:00 on the dot. We got one of the tables overlooking It's a Small World. The boys loved it. We were able to eat our whole meal without a single meltdown. The boys ate cheese pizza. The pizzas were very small, but the boys ate them. Pluto ate the salad, and it was delicious. I ate the pepperoni pizza, and it was good. The salad was fresh and tasty. The desserts were good too. Score: 8 out of 10
Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe: Supper We ate here at 5:30. It was not crowded at all. We ate the 1/2 rib and 1/2 chicken plate with mashed potatoes and green beans. Pooh shared with us. Stitch ate the kids' chicken nuggets, grapes, and chocolate chip cookie. The food here was great. The entertainment there was great. The boys enjoyed it and let us eat our meal peacefully. We will definitely go there again. Score: 8 out of 10
O'Hana: Breakfast This was one of our favorite meals. The service was great. The food was super. The character interaction was great. Stitch and Pluto really played it up with adults and kids. Lilo and Mickey were great too. We all enjoyed this meal! We will do this one again!!!!
Yorkshire: England's Counter Service This was an okay meal. The fish and chips were fresh but very greasy. We were able to score an umbrella table which was nice. The ducks wouldn't leave us alone. The area was clean. We will try somewhere else next time.
Teppan Edo: Supper This meal was delicious! Our service here was great. We all enjoyed the food and trying to use the chopsticks. The only complaint we had here was that we waited about an hour for our table with an ADR. When you have a 21 month old, that is a long time to entertain them. Besides that, the food was great. The chef was great with the kids at our table.
Crystal Palace: Lunch The meal was good. The service left a lot to be desired. Our waiter never brought us refills on drinks. We were celebrating a birthday, and the child was never brought a cupcake or even wished a happy birthday. Other tables were getting great service, but we were basically ignored until we were brought our bill and our waiter then was happy to explain tips were not included in the Disney Dining Plan. He offered to put it on our card for us. I decined that as I brought cash for all tips. I have never left Crystal Palace disappointed until this trip. I will go back because my boys are big Pooh fans, but I will ask to be reseated if I ever have the server we had. He was terrible. He didn't even bring my son his drink. I had to go to our stroller and get him something. I didn't feel it was up to Disney's standards this time.
Food Court at Caribbean Beach Resort: Supper The meal was fair. The employees there were not knowledgeable about the DDP so that was frustrating, but the food was okay. It was the only meal we ate in the food court.
Cape May Cafe: Breakfast The meal was okay. We waited almost an hour past our ADR time so that was not good. We felt rushed in our character interaction. Our server was terrific! We loved her! She was attentive and always one step ahead of any request we had. We may try this again, but it left a negative taste in our mouth having to wait so long. Some people there waited longer than us to be seated.
1900 Park Fare: Supper This was another of our favorite meals. We were seated immediately. The food was good. We had no complaints, especially with the desserts! The character interaction was unbelievable. My sons loved every single character here. My oldest "proposed" to Anastasia, and she really hammed it up with him. Drizilla kissed him on the cheek, and he refused to let us wash off the lipstick. We loved this meal. We had great service at this meal. My sons are already requesting this meal again.
Donald's Tusker House: Breakfast This was a great meal. The character interaction was super. The food was delicious. Our service was great here too. We were seated immediately too. We will do this one again! We loved it!
Restarant-saurus: Lunch This was the worst meal we had at Disney World. IT was greasy. The place was filthy. We will not eat here again. We all ended up with indigestion after this meal.
Pizza Planet: Lunch This meal was good. It wasn't great, but it is a pizza place. We ate at 12:30 so we were there at an insanely busy time. We scored a table on the second floor. The wait time to order was long, but the food came out quickly. The pizza was not greasy so that was good. We ate here because our boys requested it, and we would eat here again. It is loud, but it is to be expected. It was clean.
